sidewaysgaze 0
This is according to Variety: "James Marsden, Thomas Jane and Billy Bob Thornton are set to star in Indomitable Entertainment and Paul Schiff Productions' thriller "Red Machine" -- sharing the spotlight with a live grizzly bear." http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118048879 Jen
Tim Bradstreet 0
Yep - Tom's off to Vancouver to start shooting this next week. I know it sounds a bit strange, these guys against a Grizzly, but trust me, it's a LOT cooler than it sounds - tb
sunshine 0
It does sound a bit strange but I'm with you Tim I betcha it's gonna be great! I'm sure it will have a bit of everything in it as well as a few laughs.. You can't go wrong when all the leads in this are phenomenal. First off any film with TJ in it makes the film more insteresting and exciting to me... Adding Billy Bob Thorton to the mix...well, have any of you seen "The Monster's Ball"? That movie says it all...and his raunchy "Bad Santa"...I loved him in that. That character was just hilarious!!! LOL I can so see this...the two of them working together. He's truly magnificent. I love realistic horror/thrillers and this seems to be one. Not just about soft porn and killings in the woods... So I'm so glad TJ took this thriller on because it has been a while since we had seen him in one.
Guest AdminGuyX
I don't think James Marsden is going to survive that shoot.
Mike V 0
Here's hoping it turns out good, killer bear movies tend to not be the easiest to pull off.
Rosella 0
I’ll bear in mind that it’s a LOT cooler than it sounds. As long as there’s suspense & real fear, I’ll like it.
Lord Dubu 0
I’ll bear in mind that it’s a LOT cooler than it sounds. As long as there’s suspense & real fear, I’ll like it. This is me e-groaning.
sidewaysgaze 0
Just wanted to add this link that has more of a plot synopsis: "... the script revolves around two estranged brothers (Marsden and Jane) who make amends in the remote wilderness with their respective girlfriends. However, their freshly repaired bond is threatened when they're attacked and stalked by a grizzly bear nicknamed the Red Machine." http://www.slashfilm.com/james-marsden-thomas-jane-billy-bob-thornton-red-machin\ e/ Jen
johnpweber 0
I can see where some folks might groad, butI don't think it sounds that bad. JAWS had a very similar premise, and look how that turned out. Mike is right, you don't see a whole lot of good "killer bear" films, but that could change. Doing a film in this subgenre excites me because it's along my belife on remakes: why remake a classic? It already worked. Remake a crappy film with a good idea and make it great. Mike V 0
The Edge is pretty much the high water mark for the killer bear genre.
Geoff 0
Well if they can come close to The Edge, or even The Grey (which I just watched andwas awesome) that this is shaping up well!.
Mike V 0
I'll settle for Deep Blue Sea with a bear.
Geoff 0
lol, "Deep Black Bear" sounds perfect.
Mike V 0
Billy Bob gives in an inspirational speech, then a bear falls from a tree and eats him.

SonOfTheDark 0
Scott Glenn, Adam Beach And More Round Out The Red Machine Cast According to a new report from Variety, Red Machine has completed its casting and James Marsden, Thomas Jane, Piper Perabo and Billy Bob Thornton will be joined by Scott Glenn, Adam Beach, Michaela McManus and Kelly Curran. http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Scott-Glenn-Adam-Beach-More-Round-Out-Red-Machine-Cast-29225.html
Guest AdminGuyX
It sounds like a pretty good cast. I was checking the IMDB page for the flick. Looks like the director, David Hackl directed SAW V, which I did not see. He's primarily been an art director it looks like.
Mike V 0
Yeah, it's a Saw movie, so there's an inherit style that carries over, the only thing that really changes with the movies are the color palette.
joyce ford 0
This movie is going to be totally awsome. Anything he is in is good. And you throw Billy Bob Thornton in it and it makes it even better. Can't wait until it comes out.

viendammage 0
Wow what a great cast! Loved The Grey so if it brings that same raw energy and harrowing pace, we'll be in for a treat.
Brandon 0
If I can enjoy The Sweetest Thing because TJ is in it and in spite of Cameron Diaz, I'm sure I'm gonna love this movie.
