A Dangerous Method

Recommended Posts

"A Dangerous Method", directed by David Cronenberg, is based on British playwright Christopher Hampton's play "The Talking Cure". A look at how the intense relationship between Carl Jung (Michael Fassbender) and Sigmund Freud (Viggo Mortensen) gives birth to psychoanalysis. Keira Knightley plays the role of Jung's lover (Sabina Spielrein), the unsung heroine of psychoanalysis whose own brilliant theories – in spite of her mental fragility – influenced both Freud's and Jung's ground-breaking works.

Christoph Waltz was supposed to play Freud, but there was a schedule conflict with "Water for Elephants", so Cronenberg reunites with Mortensen after "A History of Violence" and "Eastern Promises".

They just shot in Vienna between 30 June and 2 July (I missed the extras casting, argh!). Now they will continue at Lake Constance until July 21.
