I'm not a fanboy, just a cinephile, and TDK deserves all the praise it gets. It changed the genre from solid popcorn to serious cinema. Iron Man's a good film, but goes nowhere near the level of complexity TDK explores. Heck, TDK's the reason we're back to 10 Best Picture Nominees instead of 5. There's never been a comic book movie to go that distance before. Nolan's a true auteur though, so it really shouldn't be that surprising. DIRTY LAUNDRY is very Nolan-esque.

The TDK score to me at least is a reminder that this short represents a serious approach to the character, with an emphasis on quality (which is what Nolan's Batman films did for the genre). Jane said the following on Film School Rejects: “I wanted to make a fan film for a character I’ve always loved and believed in – a love letter to Frank Castle & his fans. It was an incredible experience with everyone on the project throwing in their time just for the fun of it. It’s been a blast to be a part of from start to finish —we hope the friends of Frank enjoy watching it as much as we

Seconded, although I'd prefer a much warranted Nolan-esque 170-minute running time.

WOW. I am truly speechless. THE DARK KNIGHT meets THE PUNISHER. Terrific short. This is exactly what a Punisher movie needs to be. Bravo, Thomas Jane. Bravo.

Its amazing to me how easily Jane transforms himself into the Frank Castle persona. Just last year I was used to seeing him as nice-guy Ray Drecker yet the mere scowl in the screencap above oozes Frank Castle.

Marvel can easily do what Burton did with the first Batman film & just make a Punisher movie where Castle is already an established vigilante. No need to do an origin film again. FOX is doing the same thing with Mangold's Wolverine film.

Hopefully soon. Jane just had this convo on Twitter/WhoSay an hour ago: DJThis: "Some said that at SDCC you're pushing to play The Punisher in a Marvel Reboot? Can you confirm?" Jane: "Not pushing anything. Just a fan film from friends of Frank."

After an 8-year absence from cinema, Frank Castle returns in this short unveiled at Comic-Con. http://collider.com/punisher-short-film-thomas-jane/180604/?utm_source=m.facebook.com&utm_medium=fbshare.me-facebook-post&utm_campaign=&awesm=fbshare.me_o0HH&utm_content=fbshare-js-small http://www.comicbookmovie.com/punisher/news/?a=63863 All I can say is - there IS a God.

Great movie. Lazy script? Not at all. Fassbender = brilliant (as usual). Can't wait for the sequel. -
[in a nutshell] a tasty trip through middle-age hell that bravely showcases the cinematic weight of its actors, its a truly bold effort by Pellington, wonderfully brought to life by the delicious madness of Thomas Jane and served with a shot of abstract. 8/10.

The movie's On Demand right now. It was $9.99 well spent.
