  1. Man, I am podcasting up a storm this time around. I'm officially a member of the press via my Comics Coast to Coast stuff (thank you Tim for suggesting I try to get press credentials), but I'm also doing a podcast over at Tall Tale Features, a new comic strip artists collective. That stuff is mostly concerned with syndicated and webcartoonists...boring stuff for the RAW folks. Tim and I are planning all sorts of RAW Studios specific stuff for the Con, so I'm all over the freakin' map. But I'm sure there'll be all sorts of goodies for everyone. I'm excited at the prospect of some nice big interviews, and maybe some surprises. If only this crap paid.
  2. A cheeseburger, a shot of good single malt, and a discussion about how Ben Rothlisberger is the best quarterback in the past 20 years, and you can get anything outta Tim.
  3. Well, it's nice to be missed, that's for sure. Thanks for the great note, Mr. Logan...greatly appreciated, and some great topics in there. I can only echo what Tim said...we're going to do a Comic Con recap and then get together for a summer movie extravaganza very soon. Life, she gets in the way, but I know that both Tim and I love doing the podcast, so it shall return. I have a ton of stuff going on at Comic Con, with some cool interviews set up, and I'm sure I'm going to spend some time at the RAW booth with Tim, and I'll have my handy iPod recorder, so you never know what spontaneous interviews will happen. Stay tuned, folks.
  4. I want to say thank you to you guys for your great comments. I'm pleased that you're all enjoying our little rants, and I knew you'd love the Tom Jane one. He's just so obviously passionate about his work and his love of comic books, horror and film in general. It's really refreshing and gratifying to know that someone in a position of actual power and creation feels that way. Let's hope Hollywood doesn't beat it out of him and we find him directing the direct to DVD "Norbit III - Norbit Meets the Klumps" in five years. Also, thanks for the feedback about how we're doing individually. Tim and I really work to find questions for people that are off the beaten track, and strive to keep the natural conversational dialog we have with everyone we have on. I'm thoroughly enjoying this whole thing, and I read the comments all the time. Honestly, I have no idea if five people are downloading this thing or 5,000. (Probably best I don't know, actually.) But it's a blast to do. As a hack cartoonist, it's great to be in this world of superior artists and knowledgeable fans! (Now, if I could just get Tim to stop smoking and get that $@#!% cat out of the room, we'd be gold.)
  5. Thanks for the heads up on the podcast, folks...the lovely Heather has fixed the problem. Apparently the FTP site failed to upload the whole podcast. But, I'm told it's been rectified, so go listen to it in all its glory! (Generally, let's just blame Tim...I'm sure it was his fault somehow.) Tom Jane/Ron Perlman interview coming soon! No...really!
  6. That is how much I love you people...I talked to Tim Bradstreet while he was nude in bed. Talk about sacrifices... I'll be editing the David Allcock interview and posting it probably over the weekend. He was a great interview...funny, insightful, and that amazing English accent we'd all die for. Oh, and quite the artist, too. Check out his stuff at http://www.kinetik-art.com. I envy the hell out of his job, I can tell you that much. And, as an added bonus, you'll get to hear an Englishman in utter anguish as his beloved national team loses a match to Croatia, possibly keeping them out of the next World Cup. This is tantamount to a national tragedy, people. (Not as bad as the Pittsburgh Steelers have been stinking up the joint...I mean, c'mon! Losing to Arizona AND the Jets in a single season?) I wish you all a wonderful Turkey Day, and I wish Tim would put on a robe.
  7. Hell, Noeland...I'd be there tomorrow if I could! Maybe next time I can be the behind the scenes guy...once "Dark Country" explodes on the screens and gets the notice it should, I'm sure Mr. Jane will be making more movies, and Tim will be starting his vast media empire. I'll ride those coattails, baby! (Biding my time, of course, while I plot to take over the world.) I'm not sure where they're doing the post production work, but maybe I can weasel my way in there somewhere. Until then, it looks like we're going to chat with storyboard artist extraordinaire David Allcock this week, and I know Tim is working on getting others to give us some of their precious time. Can't wait to talk to Tom Jane and I'd sever my right pinky to talk to Ron Perlman.
  8. Ray was definitely one of those guys you just want to sit and have several beers with and hear the coolest stories. Someone who has worked on and produced things we've all read or seen in our lives, and just ridiculously approachable. It must be so cool for him right now...to see something he loves moving from the realm of "gimmick" to more than likely being in our homes in the next 5 to 10 years. I honestly knew little to nothing about what was going on out there in the high desert of New Mexico, but it seems to me like this little movie is going to be remembered as something pretty special. The 3D cameras and equipment being used on "Dark Country" sound to be seriously cutting edge, and I can't wait to see some footage. We're hoping to get more interviews out there...Mr. Bradstreet is going to see if we can snag Ron Perlman for a few minutes, which would be ridiculously cool. I can't believe I might get to talk to Hellboy! Obviously, we want to get Tom Jane on the 'cast to talk about how he got this script, why he wants it done in 3D, and how it's going out there. We might get to talk to Dave Allcock about his storyboard work, which as we heard from Ray Zone, is going to be especially important to "Dark Country." Someone mentioned it would be interesting to talk to the writer, Tab Murphy, so we'll have to see what we can do about that. Love hearing people's questions and feedback, so keep 'em coming.
  9. Chrome Dome and the Bearded Giant is pretty much the greatest title for a kid's book, ever. (I love Chrome Dome in "The Tick" cartoon, by the way. "Doing bad things to good people....with SCIENCE!" Great stuff, folks...you're coming up with some terrific names.
  10. Enter as often as you like, amigos! The more the merrier!
  11. That's right...it's Tom Racine. Everyone look busy. As for the Name the Podcast contest, that's up to Mr. Administrator, Tim Bradstreet to decide. He's off on a secret mission with Thomas Jane, but he's going to start a thread in the forums specifically for the naming of the 'cast, so keep your eyes open for it. A cool original piece of Bradstreet art awaits the winner, and we're not talkin' some scribbles on a post-it note here.
  12. Ooooo, parfait. I haven't had one of them in years. Great...now I'm totally craving one. Looks like the two new 'casts are up there for your downloading pleasure. I love hearing what you folks think, and we will be talking about your suggestions and comments, so weigh in! There's a "Name The Podcast" contest just around the corner, and you'll hear all about the very cool prize we'll be giving the winner. And any suggestions for topics or questions you might have will be welcomed, as well. If it was up to me and Tim, we'd probably just sit around talking about crap, so it's good to have a subject. I think my role in all of this is basically to herd Tim along on topic...the man is a wealth of wonderfully useless information and we both love the sound of our voices, so keep us in line, people. Enjoy!
  13. Couldn't agree with you more about Topher Grace. I think he did the best he could with crappy material...hell, he would've been a great Spider-Man, honestly. I think he's very talented as an actor, and I don't drop any of the Spider-Man III debacle on top of him in the least. (Let's start with the script, shall we?)
  14. "Our first five callers will receive ginsu knives!" Cheesy radio voice, eh? Hmmmm....I'll have to work on that. And I'm not sure I like that the podcast is an alternative to pain killers, but hey, as long as people are listening. I love the name suggestions, though, and the response. We should be sure that all your questions and comments get on the show somehow. Tim and I would love to expand it out to include a live broadcast and either chat rooms or call ins...as our might media empire expands, we shall send Rupert Murdoch running for the hills in abject fear! MU-hahahahahahaha!!!
