  1. Jeez, and now I just watched Hick... There's a two-fer for ya... Both films centered on "innocent" lost girls and creepy/perversely attractive psychopaths... Jen
  2. I watched Killer Joe yesterday and it's been bugging me all night... I have to sound off about the film. I'm not sure why I wanted to watch it in the 1st place, but I tend to watch all sorts of movies. MAJOR PLOT SPOILERS follow. Read at your own risk... So, in my opinion, Killer Joe (2011, directed by William Friedkin from a play by Tracy Letts) by is a deep fried piece of pointlessness wrapped up in the crime noir and black comedy genres. The crime noir in the movie could have been really good, but instead it was just OK, and the black comedy at 1st was a bit fun, but then got
  3. Get your dance groove on w/ "Lights Out" by Madison, and watch out for the tricky hip-pop lyrics around the 2-minute mark: Jen
  4. Ahhh - Esco! You've just answered the question I was going to post here; what is the new QOTSA album like? How many times have you listened to the disc? Is it an instant like or did it grow on you? What is your most fave album by the band? "I Appear Missing" is one of my faves off the album: Will give my thoughts later when I have more time - Jen
  5. Well, this is way belated, but Happy B-day, Joyce! Jen

  16. Link to review of LOL with some pertinent info about Tom...LOL...here: "The two most important things to take away from LOL: this movie should have been all about Thomas Jane, who plays Lola's father, and Anne is a horrible mother. She treats Lola like a sister, she looks like Lola's sister..." http://chrisandelizabethwatchmovies.wordpress.com/tag/thomas-jane/ Jen
  17. Yeah, I kind of lost track of what Depeche Mode was doing after Songs of Faith + Devotion. Not sure why... I did hear songs from Ultra and Exciter that I liked, but not enough to buy the albums at that time, for some reason... From what I recall, I was still listening to radio at that time and taped a couple of the songs to keep on cassette... Yes, "It's No Good" is a fave of mine too, and I forgot about "Halo", but just gave it a listen, and it's up there too. My other faves besides "Never Let Me Down Again", include "Shake The Disease", "The Policy of Truth", "World in My Eyes", "
  18. Thanks so much for your comments! I actually didn't realize that the IMDB.com links for each movie came up in the Filmography, but it's cool that it does. Very helpful. I'm also not sure if I described the short film The Butler's In Love correctly. It's been a little while since I've seen that one. Will have to watch it again. I posted a couple of short interviews (text) with Tom in the Interviews thread, but they are from when he was at the Gasparilla Film Fest this past weekend, and there's a pic of Tom at one of those links. He talks about The Punisher, Tampa Bay, being shoeless,
  19. I did read the article w/ link above, and it did make sense there; I just didn't know how to encapsulate the article in a nutshell...
  20. Wasn't that a fun video, and to promote a cool event? I found 2 short, text interviews online w/ Tom from the other event he attended, the Gasparilla Film Fest. Here are the links to those short ints: http://voices.yahoo.com/actor-thomas-jane-honored-2013-gasparilla-international-12068727.html?cat=40 and http://www2.tbo.com/entertainment/movies/2013/mar/23/3/punisher-actor-garners-giff-award-ar-668943/ Jen

  23. I know this post is from a long time ago, but I just read that Dan Snaith, the man behind Caribou, is now Daphni with an album out called Jiaolong. It's not really my thing, but just wanted you to know. "Springs" is springy with some clacking beats and lots of R2-D2 beeping flourishes sprinkled throughout: Jen PS Sunshine, I will reply to your DM post soon; I'm pressed for time right now, but your song list is really cool and I'll have to give a listen to some of them because I either haven't heard them or not in a while...
  24. Hiya Sunshine! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one psyched about Depeche Mode's new album. That's so cool that you've seen the guys live. I never have. And you pre-date me for being a fan. I caught on to them around Music For The Masses, I think. Whenever "People Are People" became more widely heard (well, to a point). I used to collect all the articles and photos of the band members from magazines, mostly international ones since the U.S. didn't quite take to DM right away. I remember a couple kids in high school flaunting the fact that they saw DM live. LOL I have bee
  25. IMDB.com forgot, or put in a different area, Tom's role as "himself" on the TV series Arrested Development, The One Where They Build A House episode! Tom had a few memorable scenes in that episode and is wryly funny as he insists exasperatedly to Portia DeRossi's character, "I'm Tom Jane!" Jen
