I need to check out Redbelt.

Oh, and C, if you dig the two Brooks books you HAVE to check out "Walking Dead". It's a comic that is out in TPB. The most recent TPB is a fucking tragedy (meaning the end just tears you up). It makes "The Mist" ending look like a Disney film and THAT is saying something!!!

Best Zombie shit EVER!

Doesnt Redbelt have Randy Couture in it? I remember watching a preview to that movie and getting a glimpse of him, haha i hope he doesnt have a lot of speaking parts after what i hear about his work in Scorpion King 2...Id rather see Chuck Liddell act than Couture.

When I was at the Toronto comicbook expo last weekend I must've seen "Walking Dead" tbp on numerous tables, funny tho' it caught my interest when the day was late and my hands were full, hence I skipped it.

I will look into it at the my local dealer. thx for the recommendations, they are always appreciated.

Sorry to hear you're busted up. If you don't mind me asking, what happened?

I hope you don't have to go under the knife! I've had 2 friend who've had to deal with broken knees, and months of physical therapy. I wish you the best.

Tim, are you and C talking about the same kind of smoke?

;)

I liked "The Walking Dead" too, and zombie survival guide. I STILL haven't checked out world war z.

I know, I suck.

Just finishing another smoke.

Noeland, yes and no . . . .

Decided last night to wait on REDBELT as it was getting late.

Popped in Doomsday instead. Fell asleep 17 minutes in.

Not a commentary on the film's effectiveness, I was horizontal and headed towards sleep as a goal.

I like a little something to send me off.

Bad form I know.

I usually do that with comfort films, not new ones.

Finishing up Doomsday tonight. Then REDBELT.

I just watched Rain of Madness, the Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse to the fictional Tropic Thunder film in Tropic Thunder. iTunes has up for free download, so I recommend checking it out, it's 30 min. and has some pretty funny shit in it. Here's a link to the official site.

So, I hurt my back yesterday hauling boxes around. The return of sciatica.

I'm walking with a cane today, popping vicodin, talking people down from internet homicide, and otherwise yelling at my dogs to get the fuck out of my way. They can't figure the cane out, so they have to inspect it every time I try to walk around the house. It's kind of funny and annoying at the same time.

Dude, I'm sorry you fell down stairs. That SUCKS, and I wish you a full and speedy recovery. Just feel lucky you don't live in a soap opera or B movie. You can't fall down stairs without your neck snapping.

;)

I pushed down some stairs once, it fucked my leg up for a few days.

Also, I just watched The Matador, it was a very good movie. Pierce Brosnan really should do more comedic roles.

I just downloaded the Guitar Hero III mix of Metallica's Death Magnetic, and holy shit it sounds way better than the official CD. The fucking loudness on it is just inexcusable, they need to go back and remix/remaster the the thing.

I just finished listening to the score from Navajo Joe, by Ennio Morricone. It's the same score that Tarantino borrowed the ultra cool track "Silhouette Of Doom" from, for Kill Bill Vol 2.

Most impressive. Thanks to Tim B for the goodies. It would be un-lady-like to tell you what I was up to prior to that. I am quite hipped, my luxurious bed beckons my presence.

I just got done reading the new issue of American Handgunner. The new FN pistol looks like a nice hunk of iron, and the new Ruger SR9 should immediately, IMHO replace the beretta M9 as the standard military issued sidearm. :)

I would be sleeping if my sciatica wasn't hurting, but it is.

Watching I Am Legend. I can't believe it cost as much as it did ($150 million according to most sites) Over all, I liked the film. I think Francis Lawrence is a great director, I loved Constantine (though it's not a good Hellblazer adaptation) but I can't stand the CG he uses, or gets stuck with. Both films the CG was dreadful. I Am Legend had a lot of un-nessicary CG and easily could have been done with half the budget.

This is kind of bugging me because I just read an artical about how Universal turned down Spielburg and Jackson on Tintin because of budget. I know films can be expencive, but come on. You get Will Smith or any other major actor/director and they all want $100 million for a film and most of it goes to luxuries not on the screen. Fine, they earned it I guess, but then I hear about other films that can't even get a studio to shell out $10 million for a film. Looking at all my favorite films, budget wise, not many crack $30 million. It's all a game as much as it is a buisness, I know that, but it's getting really irritating. And if you get $150 mil, please, invest in some decent CG. Glad to get that off my chest. ;)

There's an I Am Legend thread somewhere in the Comics and Film section where I posted Lawrence's reasoning for the CG, and I understand his reasoning but I do think there was a middle ground that could have been used between CG and practical make-up.

And I thought the CG in Constantine was pretty good.
