JO, what the fuck was Morgan Freeman doing in that film anyway???

No idea bro. I often thought that. I wanna say he did it as a favor for Ben's brother, Casey, but don't know for sure.

Sure confuses the hell outta me.

He also did "The Contract" recently with John Cusack. I normally love both actors, but that film was the WORST piece of dog shit I have seen in recent memory.

If a guy posts pictures of half-naked hot chicks it's considered...normal. :)

Having been married to a male of the species for quite a while now, I totally get that.

Not a problem.

YES. What the hell was up with that film man? It was bizarre in a really bad way. I usually love both these guys and in that film I just couldn't watch it.

I have to say that I think it's funny that there is a complaint about too many skin pics of Hugh, when none of the females on the board, myself included, have complained about ALL the scantily clad chick pics.

Whatever. It's an open forum as long as it's not porn.

Just an observation.

Ehhhhh... what can I say? I'm biased.

Oh, you know, it wasn't so much a complaint, as it was a... well, there's gotta be a better word than complaint.

Of course, I think Morgan Freeman can do WHATEVER he wants and still be respected as an actor. One of the few that can pull that off.

Yes. I believe that with very few. Gary Oldman is another that can and so is Christian Bale. There are a few but the few are great.

So... apparently Gambit might be in the movie:

http://filmwad.com/rumor-bailey-chase-up-f...it--5564-p.html

A number of people out there on the internet seem to be under the impression that former Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Bailey Chase may be playing "the Ragin' Cajun" himself in the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman. New Zealand's Sunday Star Times is the source on this story as they recently had a phone conversation with Chase and got the following:

He is also in negotiations for a part in the Hugh Jackman movie Wolverine, which will be filmed in New Zealand.

"It's very confidential and top-secret. I think they're casting under alias names but for now, he's called Mr Yellow.

"He's about 30 years old, a charming southern guy on the surface but he's got some ulterior motives going on underneath. By the end of the film, he's probably not going to be such a nice guy."

Naturally, people want to believe this means that the mysterious X-Man known as Gambit will finally appear in theaters after being conspicuously absent from the X-Men trilogy that ended last year. It's true that the age and dubious morals match up with the character, but if the people casting Wolverine were going to code-name anyone Mr. Yellow, one would think it would be either Sabretooth or Maverick (though Maverick is German). What's more, this is supposed to be an origins story of Wolverine and last I checked (some time ago, admittedly) Gambit didn't have an awful lot to do with the Weapon X program or the subsequent drama that went on between Logan and his fellow super-powered operatives. For one thing, the Weapon X people are mostly old enough to be Gambit's grandparents.

On top of all of this, Chase may or may not get this part that he may or may not fully understand. "Grain of salt" would be an understatement.

Some more quasi-Wolverine-esque news:

http://www.moviehole.net/news/20071231_wol...eling_torn.html

We haven't heard a peep out of popstress Natalie Imbruglia in years – well, those that actually bought her last album did, the rest of us haven't seen her since her clip for “Torn” played continuously on VH1 all those years ago – but she's just chirped.

The one-time “Neighbours” beauty, who now spends most of her time in a sinking beanbag with Daniel Johns from Silverchair, has reportedly auditioned for a role in the “X-Men” spin-off, “Wolverine”.

Seems they're doing a lot of casting out of Australia for this one - “Romulus, My Father” star Kodi Smit-McPhee is also said to be in talks to join the cast of the Hugh Jackman-starrer. If Bryan Brown's announced as Gambit and Delta Goodrem agrees to cameo as 'Rogue', we'll know the 'Cast Aussie Players' tax-break stipulation has been tweaked for the new year.

Imbruglia's apparently setting her sights on a big-screen career – when your music career nosedives, it's a good option, except of course if you're Madonna – and has just wrapped the lead role in a new Aussie flick titled “Elise”. Will she be cuddling up to fluffy Logan by Easter?

The original article:

http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,2...5006023,00.html

SHE rang the bell for the Boxing Day sales, but Natalie Imbruglia's big-screen career could also be making noise with news she has auditioned for a role in Hugh Jackman's latest blockbuster.

Confidential can reveal the actress-turned-songstress had a secret screen test for a part in Wolverine in Sydney two weeks ago.

The one-time Ramsay St resident seems to be switching her focus back to the screen after her single Glorious failed to set the charts on fire in either Britain or her homeland Australia this year.

She finished filming the Aussie flick Elise in Adelaide earlier this month and is also believed to have auditioned for the job as host of So You Think You Can Dance – a role that went to another former Neighbours actress, Natalie Bassingthwaighte.

"Shooting (Elise) and getting to play such an interesting character was a dream come true," Imbruglia said. "I am still pinching myself about the whole experience and I definitely want to do more film."

Casting for the next film in the X-Men series is ongoing, with Naomi Watt's partner Liev Schreiber and AFI-winner Kodi Smit-McPhee rumoured to be joining the project.

UK-based Imbruglia spent Chrissy Day in Newcastle, the home town of her Silverchair rocker hubby Daniel Johns.

But she had to go easy on the eggnog, with a 7am start at David Jones's city store yesterday.

Dressed in a design by her friend and former stylist Alice McCall, Imbruglia launched the post-Christmas clearance alongside DJs bigwigs.

And with the sun shining again, she is hardly counting down the days until she jets out on January 2.

Bailey Chase is a possible Gambit...

I'm thinking he could be a young Stryker. The description kinda fits Stryker and he did have bit of a southern accent in X2.

Now if Natalie Imbruglia did get cast, who will she play?

natalieimbruglia3bz8.jpg

My guess is Heather MacNeil aka The Vindicator. But she could also be Rose (Wolverine's first love) or Elizabeth Howlett (his mother).

BTW, after watching "Eastern Promises" tonight I am convinced that Vincent Cassel is the ONLY man that should be allowed to touch the Gambit character.

Fred he really is good choice for Gambit, but unfortunately we live in a world where casting directors have their heads up their asses most of the time. Cassel is a very impressive actor. My pic for Sabretooth was actually Singer's first choice in the first X-Men film. He is not in any way involved with X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Who the fuck else is gonna play Victor Creed PROPERLY?

KEVIN NASH

The Stats:

-6'10"

-325 lbs. at 10% Body Fat

-24 inch Biceps

-Former WWE/WCW Champion

Supporting Roles in:

-The Punisher (2004)

-The Longest Yard (2005)

-DOA Dead or Alive (2006)

Hugh Jackman has gotten ridiculously big since X1. There is no-one but Nash that can supercede him physically at this point, specially because Jackman is 6'3". I really hope they don't cast some tiny Sabretooth, that would really bother the fuck outta me - MORE than Samuel L. Jackson playing Nick Fury.

Or Michael Clark Duncan playing Kingpin! The director said that he wanted to cross racial boundaries. What? And give the role of the crime boss to a black man? Way to make headway for racial equality!!! :( If he was really interested in making "progress" he would have given us a black Daredevil...OR...as Marvel Comics is doing now with some of the comics...a black Nick Fury.

I agree on Nash as well. He's the perfect Sabertooth.

Marvel.com states that little is known about Victor Creed aka Sabretooth. What is known, is that he's 275 lbs. at 6'6". Singer made a wise decision in casting Hugh Jackman as Wolverine because he knew a short bad-ass with claws just wasn't the way to go on screen. Instead of giving us what was already an iconic Marvel hero, he gave us something even more menacing: a 6'3" Australian that's as close to Clint Eastwood as we're ever gonna get. Wolverine got an image upgrade for the big screen, Sabretooth deserves the same...

What I wouldn't give to see those two monsters clash.

Have you seen these before, TL? These are great posters from the XMen 3 movie. Just thought you'd get a kick out of 'em.

That first shot you posted is the Australian poster for X-Men: The Last Stand, which is proudly framed in my living room wall. Thanks for sharing MFAN, I can't wait to see what the Wolverine movie poster will look like!

That's cool, TL. I have a Stigmata poster on my living room wall, lol. And it's awesome. But my favorite of those up there is the second one that's been graded and colored with the twisted remnants of the Golden Gate bridge in the background. That one is just too freakin' cool!

I wonder if Kelsey Grammer is going to return as the Beast? I would also like to see them explore each of the characters the way they're doing with Wolverine. My favorite was always Rogue, but after she had her run-in with Marvel Girl. One thing I never liked about these movies was the way they completely glossed over her background with Magneto and left out the fact that she could fly, but only because she had taken the power from Marvel Girl when she killed her. That part of the story always lent so much more depth to the character, that has been overlooked in the X-Men movies. I think there's enough material in each character to do a movie on each of them.

But what I'm curious about is this? Is Gambit going to be in this movie, and if he is, how are they going to introduce his character, because he didn't appear in the story until years later (and before Professor X died). But do you think they are going to bring Professor X back? Because at the end of the third one, when Moira Kelly was with the comatose patient, it led you to believe that Xavier's mind had been transferred into that man and that he was still alive somehow.

What do you think?

My understanding is that the movie takes place before the X-Men films, so having Beast and the rest in it is unlikely. Though word was Deadpool might be in it.

And the comatose body in X3 was Professor X's brain dead twin brother, and he did transfer his mind.

Have they followed the comics AT ALL with the storylines for the film? They'll introduce Gambit however...

And that XMen poster!!! BEN FOSTER as Angel. It's wierd to look at after 30 Days, Alpha Dog and 3:10!
