  1. I really liked Henry Poole Is Here, but that's the only Mark Pellington film I've seen. I wanted to see U2 3D, but it never played in any theaters near me.

    I liked Henry Poole Is Here as well, and was sorry to see it described as little seen.

    As for going after Pheonix, I don't get that. I hear he's not the easiest to get along with either. Why not go after someone who won't talk back. That, or kiss and make up. I'd rather have Norton back.

    I thought Phoenix retired from acting to concentrate on his hip-hop career? I guess you'd have the curiosity factor there, but it seems they would have to offer him a ton of cash to get him back into acting.

  3. If someone could get work in the film industry only if they were a practically perfect person, there would not be anything in the theaters to see. Considering the news cycle, we'll be hearing about someone else's private problems being aired in public sooner rather than later.

    Mel can have a long career behind the camera.

  4. As for convention news, I just found out that Thomas Jane had to cancel. My heart stopped when I read that. Sad news? More like very tragic. I'm very curious as to why Tom can't make it. Maybe he can tell me about the reason on here.

    Tim commented on FB that a close friend of Tom's passed away yesterday morning, and that is why he cancelled.

  5. Splice was definintely creepy in some scenes. I don't want to say much more than that because I don't want to ruin it for anyone. I felt the movie went downhill in the last thirty minutes or so, but to each their own. It kind of reminded me of Species.

    I have not seen Splice but, yeah, Species was the first thing I thought of when I saw the commercial for Splice.

    Predators looks more promising to me.

  6. I know. I know. I'm all for Tom getting a new audience. But at the same time, is that really an audience he wants?

    Do you think parents will ask, "Who played Miley's father?" I don't know. It could be good. We'll have to wait and see, I guess.

    I can already picture a young girl approaching Tom and saying, "You're from that Miley movie."

    I'm guessing pretty much ANY audience is a wanted audience.

    Let me make it clear that I am not a Miley fan, but she is a small part of the entertainment establishment in Nashville. I'm not much into Country music, but since I live just outside of Nashville, it's difficult to avoid hearing about it in the news. If TJ is still interested in doing the Glen Sherley biopic, being in the Miley-sphere, could be helpful.

    And whether you like it or not, this flick will be on a big screen near you.

  7. I wasn't happy when I found out about it. Come on, Tom! Seriously? Why?

    Harlow is the only reason I can think of. I was hoping I could avoid all of Miley Cyrus's movies. Guess not.

    I'll see it for Tom. But I still think he has some explaining to do. ;)

    Really?

    I think it's a great idea. A whole new audience will be exposed to his screen presence. His last two flicks have gone straight to video and he's on a show on HBO that I haven't seen yet because I don't get HBO. HBO may be peachy, but it is a limited audience. A project with a more diverse audience is wonderful. Don't forget that a lot of those girls that see the movie will be going with their Moms. Gotta give the Mom something worth the ticket price. :)

  8. The Hex film has also got me wound up over the confilct I have over seeing this. I don't want to support it if everything we've been hearing is true. I don't need to be force-fed shit. On the other hand, if this fails, what are studios going to say about the Western genre? Damn the studio heads, damn them to hell!

    I guess I always thought of this flick as comic book genre, not western genre. Appaloosa is western genre.

    Considering that Jonah Hex and Wild, Wild West have been mentioned in the same sentence, I don't think I can bring myself to watch this flick, even on DVD.

  9. Just saw it too. I'm really mixed on this. Parts of it look okay, but there's a lot that does not. Kind of like Warzone did. Early reviews have not been kind. 3 out of the 4 I've read have called it another Wild Wild West :(

    I've only been able to enjoy Hex since the Palmiotti reboot, so I don't know how close it is to the original storyline. The scaring has been changed. Speaking of, I can't say I'm too impressed with Josh's look and voice. The make-up seems to be hindering his voice, and the make-up is too stiff looking.

    Comparing it to Wild Wild West pretty much kills it for me.

    As far as the scarring goes, a scar like that would be a bit of a hindrance, I would think. I won't have to think long, though. I'll wait for this to hit netflix. I'm sure the hubby will like watching Megan, if nothing else.

  10. The make-up looks pretty good, it's not as gruesome as I would have liked it though.

    I'm guessing so that it will appeal to a broader audience. You can't make your dashing leading man look too hideous. Reminiscent of Mel Gibson in the flick, what was it called, Man Without A Face?

  11. I was surprised and very happy to see Lee Majors in a decent guest role tonight. Can't remember the last time I've seen him in anything beside those stinking hearing aid commercials.

    I liked the back story. I'm going to be very disappointed if this show doesn't come back next year.

  12. The episode "The Package" focused on Sun and Jin. I enjoyed it, because it had all of the main characters.

    Spoiler Alert!!!

    <snip>

    In Flash-Sideways, Sun and Jin don't want her father to know that they're together. I'm tired of seeing Martin Keamy (actor Kevin Durand). That had better have been the last time we see his face. We got to find out how Jin got to be tied up, then found by Sayid. At least that was explained.

    <snip>

    I didn't understand this part. i thought Jin and Sun were married, so why the idea that they are sneaking around behind her father's back? Did I miss something?

    And yes, that stupid red V was annoying.
