HUNG

The second season for Hung starts June 27th.

Here's a small article:

http://www.tvsquad.com/2010/04/23/hbo-sets...hung-entourage/

Yaaaay!! Now I just have to hope that wherever I am in June that I have HBO.

I saw a listing on eBay of the Hung Emmy "For Your Consideration" dvd. I'm not sure what categories they're submitting in. I'm guessing HBO made the submissions, so I'd bet that they've submitted Thomas for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, and Jane Adams for either Supporting or Lead Comedy actress, and probably the show itself for Comedy series. I like their choices too. They chose the pilot episode, plus The Pickle Jar and A Dick and a Dream or Fight the Honey (the season finale). Good choices. But I might have picked Do It, Monkey over the finale. That one was really good, and if I remember correctly, that's the one where Ray realized that he was falling for Gemma.

All good choices, though.

Short article with minor spoilers about season two.

http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/20...rin-dungey.html

Merrin Dungey has been cast in a "major" recurring role for season two, as a client of Ray's. Hmmm.

I wonder if it'll be another "Gemma" story or if they'll do something different.

Patricia Arquette can't watch Tom's *love* scenes in Hung. Here's a short article about her aversion (which I don't think any of the rest of us suffer

from! LOL):

"PATRICIA ARQUETTE refuses to watch her husband THOMAS JANE enact love scenes on his U.S. show HUNG..."

Finally, they are airing the first season of the show here in Austria & Germany on Comedy Central since May 6 and I've seen the first three episodes now. Pretty funny, I like it. The pilot was good, even though it took a while to really establish the characters and the conflicts and get things going, so I enjoyed the second and third episode quite a lot more. Tom rocks. Jane rocks. I'm glad that Thomas Nero Wolff is doing Tom's german voice, he just fits and does a great job. Looking forward to episodes 4 and 5 next week :)

Wow Son, I didn't even realize or would have thought that you would have to see this, after so long with voice overs. Whatta shame. HUNG is great! Where you trying to stay away from this thread until you saw it? I mean with all of us talking about it for so long and you having no clue what's going on, probably sucked huh? LOL Glad you finally get to see what everyone's been raving about!

Well, I followed the thread in terms of news (Golden Globe, second season start), but I avoided the details and possible spoilers about the first season, because I wanted to be surprised you know. I noticed the general positive reactions to the show so I was looking forward to see it. The wait wasn't too bad, because I'm currently watching Flash Forward and the final Lost season too (plus I didn't finish the final Battlestar Galactica season too long ago) ^^

Me too, Jen!! I'm dying to see what Ray and Tanya and Lenore are going to get into this year. Love that video too! :D

I knew the ladies here would love that video. :)

Here's an article (with quotes from the creators) about Hung, season 2:

"Season two will push the gigolo even further in this regard: "The types of clients he'll be dealing with and confronting will make things tougher for him psychologically," Lipkin said."

I love how, in the video, at one point when Tom's in bed and, ummm, on the bottom, he has this "WTF?" expression on his face - priceless!

Jen

Yes, priceless indeed.

That Hung video is one of my favorite promos for a show. How could anyone not want to see this show? I wonder if the writers have it planned out as to how many seasons they hope to have.

Article from Variety about freshman Emmy contenders, including Hung.

http://www.variety.com/article/VR111802029...d=4054&cs=1

Strengths: Nuanced portrayal of a man facing hard times (no pun intended -- well, maybe intended just a bit) in contemporary Detroit.

Weaknesses: Plenty of weirdness, but if you're looking for laugh-out-loud moments, it's gonna be a long search.

Best days ahead or behind?: The journey for these characters seems to have plenty of room to run.

Hung, Season 2, upcoming episode descriptions. Not sure where this info was found originally, but here's the link to site with info for 3 of the new episodes; and it's called "SpoilerTV", so fair warning:

Thanks for sharing that, Jen. Great pics, and I'm glad to see that they brought back Ray's assistant coach. He's kind of a sad sack, but I like him, and they need another male character for Ray to hang out with. Just to balance all the estrogen on the show, lol!

Found this article about the critic's picks for Emmy contenders this year, and Thomas was mentioned as someone who should be nominated.

Griffiths: "Thomas Jane (HBO's 'Hung') shouldn't be overlooked for his hilariously deflated, if wildly endowed, dude.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20100616/en_nm/us_emmys_critics

Too bad Patricia isn't getting a lot of Emmy buzz this year. Maybe she and Thomas will both be dark horse contenders and both get nominations.

What? I can dream, can't I?

I hope Tom gets nominated and wins!!! He really deserves it.

How cool would that be for Tom to have the title, Emmy-winning actor? B)

RAW should create its own awards show. That way, we would actually be content with the results.
