sidewaysgaze 0
So we can expect 2nd season out when?? From what I recall hearing in an interview Tom recently did (I don't know which one now), he said it would air in the summer, probably pretty much like the shedule of the 1st season of Hung. Of course it's all up to the head honchos at HBO, so there's nothing official yet from them, as far as I know... Jen
sidewaysgaze 0
Here's an in-depth Hung article from UK titled: 'Hung: Never mind the length, feel the quality': "Hung is a quirky and surprisingly tender odyssey through both the male midlife crisis and the female sexual psyche." http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertai...ty-1799711.html Jen
Padre 0
The series just started over here. The pilot was great. It nice to see Tom with a juicy dramatic role.
sidewaysgaze 0
UK Review of Hung, 1st episode: Thomas Jane has a gravelly, lethargic voice that is quite at odds with his chiselled appearance but quite magnetic, too. His relationship with Tanya (Jane Adams)...has intriguing promise." http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertai...ng-1803374.html and another UK Review of Hung (at end of article): "Hung tells the story of Ray, played with just the right balance of pathos and poise by Thomas Jane" http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertai...e4-1804631.html and UK blurb about debut of Hung with lots o' peeps comments: http://watchwithmothers.net/2009/10/15/new...ight-on-more-4/ and Blogger blogs a short post about Hung, pilot episode (interestingly enough it sounds like this person saw the "first draft" of the show, when actress Kristin Bauer was in it, before Anne Heche, if I recall the casting changes correctly - unless the person can't recognize Anne Heche...LOL): "Thomas Jane was excellent as Ray Decker & in 95% of the episode made me feel really sorry for the Characters plight." http://simplytelevision.blogspot.com/2009/10/hung-pilot.html Jen

relias33 0
Tom what's the deal with season 2? When does that kick in gear? sidewaysgaze 0
Review of Hung from Ireland: "a nicely wry take on Ray's woes and on his Midnight Cowboy aspirations. The performances by Thomas Jane, Anne Heche and Jane Adams are engagingly quirky, too." http://www.independent.ie/entertainment/tv...tt-1923587.html and Review of Hung, 2nd episode of season, with spoilers: "Thomas Jane is a wonderful choice for a lead actor..." http://danowen.blogspot.com/2009/10/hung-1...i-call-you.html Jen

sidewaysgaze 0
Can't wait for that 2nd season! In the meantime, here's a link to an Interview with Tom at the official HBO Blogspot and this is the part where they talk about Hung (otherwise the talk focuses on Dark Country): "Would you ever direct an episode of “Hung”? JANE: I don’t think that’s my strength. That kind of comedy directing…there’s so many guys out there who can do it better than me that I don’t feel I have anything unique to give to “Hung” except as an actor. So I’m gonna let the guys who direct things like “Hung” direct that and try not to step on their toes. If I directed the show, it would be very odd. A very strange episode, outside of what people have come to expect [laughs]." http://hboblogproject.blogspot.com/2009/10...about-dark.html Jen
sidewaysgaze 0
Some news about Hung from Ireland: "The critically acclaimed series is now being screened on 3e every Monday night at 11.30pm -- and is expected to gain a large Irish following." http://www.herald.ie/entertainment/tv-radi...ng-1926311.html Jen
xNLx 0
Not sure if its news, but you can preorder the first season on Amazon for $26something. I didn't see a release date, but that's a pretty good price for a season of a show.

mediumfan 0
Neat review of the second episode, which has just started airing in the UK. This guy seems to get it. Good review. Thomas Jane is a wonderful choice for a lead actor; handsome enough to be plausible as a male escort, affable enough for everyone to immediately like, and sympathetic enough for the guys to want to watch. I like this part I'm not expecting full-frontal nudity here, but the boys get to see breasts and the girls can relish Jane's artfully poised backside. http://danowen.blogspot.com/2009/10/hung-1...i-call-you.html
sidewaysgaze 0
Thanks for that MediumFan. Here's another nice review of Hung: "Thomas Jane is excellently cast..." and "Crucially, for a show about an anti-hero with his life in the toilet, Hung is refreshingly jocular. With such mirth to match its girth, Hung is about as much fun as you can have..." http://totallydublin.ie/blog/?p=684 Jen
sidewaysgaze 0
Blogger Review of The Pickle Jar episode of Hung, with spoilers; the reviewer really likes this ep: ""The Pickle Jar" dealt with an issue that all startup prostitutes must face: how do you perform when you're not sexually attracted to a client? http://danowen.blogspot.com/2009/11/hung-14-pickle-jar.html Jen
sidewaysgaze 0
Hung article: "...says Lipkin. "One of the things we were interested in was the male psyche versus the female psyche. mediumfan 0
I agree, k-skye. The reviews have all been highly positive for Thomas' performance and I have a feeling there could be some well-deserved love from the HFPA in his future. Don't want to jinx it, but I'm hoping for him.

sidewaysgaze 0
Hung overview from Australia, where it's going to air, or recently has started airing: "There is truth here that rises above any instant gratification over the blatant title and bold premise." http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2009/11/hung.h...ntent=Bloglines Jen

sidewaysgaze 0
...here's link to an article online about Hung. sidewaysgaze 0
Australian article on Hung, with pic of Tom: "As an actor, Jane says, he can identify with Ray's history of career ups and downs, exhilarating highs followed by steep reversals, or vice versa." http://www.theage.com.au/news/entertainmen...8824747336.html Jen
mediumfan 0
So "awards season" is rapidly approaching, and already talk is starting to spread about possible nominees. Not surprisingly, it seems both Thomas and the show are getting a good bit of buzz. Not saying that will translate into nominations, but the bloggers and critics are making their lists, and I've seen Hung and/or Thomas on a couple of them. Hopefully that will turn into a nomination. It would be well-deserved. Here's hoping. If I were a one-man Hollywood Foreign Press Association, though, I'd seriously consider supporting nominations to Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara (and possibly Rico Rodriguez too). I also wouldn't be shocked if Thomas Jane picked up a nomination for his work on "Hung." http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/20...t=Google+Reader This one mentions Hung in a list of new shows that could be possible contenders. http://www.variety.com/article/VR111801259...t=Google+Reader
mediumfan 0
WOW! It's starting already. The WGA Awards nominees were announced today and Hung was nominated for Best New Series. It's got some pretty stiff competition, but hey, at least it's gettin' noticed. NEW SERIES Glee, Written by Ian Brennan, Brad Falchuk, Ryan Murphy; Fox The Good Wife, Written by Angela Amato Velez, Corinne Brinkerhoff, Ted Humphrey, Dee Johnson, Todd E. Kessler, Michelle King, Robert King; CBS Hung, Written by Colette Burson, Ellie Herman, Emily Kapnek, Brett C. Leonard, Dmitry Lipkin, Angela Robinson; HBO Modern Family, Written by Paul Corrigan, Sameer Gardezi, Joe Lawson, Steven Levitan, Christopher Lloyd, Dan O'Shannon, Brad Walsh, Caroline Williams, Bill Wrubel, Danny Zuker; ABC Nurse Jackie, Written by Taii K. Austin, Liz Brixius, Rick Cleveland, Evan Dunsky, Nancy Fichman, Liz Flahive, Jennifer Hoppe, Mark Hudis, John Hilary Shepherd, Linda Wallem, Christine Zander; Showtime While I'd love to see the show win, I'd be surprised if it did, given the shows that it's up against. My money's on Glee or Nurse Jackie taking the awards this season. But let's keep our fingers crossed anyway. http://www.variety.com/index.asp?layout=aw...id=VR1118012709 http://www.wga.org/content/default.aspx?id=3888 Here's another article about the Golden Globes and its possible contenders, who will be announced tomorrow morning. Eastbound and Down and Hung HBO is also a big favorite, and while it's doubtful that these shows will earn multiple nominations, Danny McBride and Thomas Jane could both get into the Lead Actor race. http://www.buddytv.com/articles/glee/2009-...-wha-33276.aspx
