Time to diversify. :)

Hoohah!

Gregg Lee Henry can sing. Shit. I had no idea. Turns out he released a CD titled "heavy lifting". It ain't half bad too.

Really digging his music. I've always been a fan of this kind of piano driven smoky bar room blues. Just reaches right into your soul and stirs it up.

Hung Ratings:

"dramedy Hung has been averaging 9.4 million viewers per episode on HBO, making it the premium cable network's most watched freshman series in more than five years."

Shortish review of Hung:

"Thomas Jane is brilliant as this good looking man with a “gift”, and his story has evolved tremendously since the beginning. We are seeing this man as he struggles to find his new identity."

Wow, what a great finale! Good thing the show got renewed cuz there were sure a lot of questions left unanswered. Can't wait to see the next season. This was by far one of the best episodes yet, and Thomas was in excellent form. WOW! Jane Adams was also a force to be reckoned with in this ep. She almost stole the episode and made it all about her character. Lots of stuff going on in this one and it definitely leaves you wanting to come back next season.

Excellent work, TJ! My congratulations on a super first season.

Best line of the episode: Ray is MY prostitute!

Second best line of the episode: It's not my fault you can't keep your ho in line.

Great work all around and I'm eagerly awaiting the second season (and the release of this season on dvd, natch!) :D

Congrats again on a great show and a great season, TJ! Can't wait for season 2, but I gotta ask, what was the deal with Tanya and the fly? Is that something that's gonna be answered next season, or was it just something thrown in there? It looked like it was supposed to mean something, but I don't want to get too spoilery for those who haven't seen it yet.

Anxiously awaiting season 2! :P

Great ending to a great series. Honey! ;D I don't watch too many series, but I find it hard to compare Hung to others out there. And with the subject/plot the series is about, it's totally different than I would have expected. I'd think we'd get some toilet humor here and there, but it's nothing like that at all. It's much more "grown-up" than that or something (or just that my toilet humor detector has malfunctioned).

Either way, I think everyone has high hopes for Season 2! :)

Looking forward to season 2! When will the filming start for that? When will it be shown?

Still have some catching up to do with the first season, though. Haven't seen the last five episodes yet.... B)

When the show is averaging several million viewers, it isn't us Mr. Jane. It is yourself, your other castmates and a great idea running with good people.

Now if only I had HBO :)

The finale was a surprise for me. I didn't expect that kind of strong emotional scene.

I was sure they were going to go for a comedic resolution there, and end the season on an offbeat note. Instead, we got something very thoughtful and oddly humble.

And, honey. Who doesn't love some honey?

Watched the rest of the season last night.

I love about this show that nothing really ever happens like you expect it to.

Hung Up on Hung article at Forbes site:

"What could have been a one-joke show about a man and his endowment became much more, with Ray stepping into the role of symbol of our times."

Review of season finale of Hung - an A-; SPOILERS AHOY:

"I’ll take a show that turns out a few surprising and well-wrought little scenes between its characters...over a show that just goes for broke on hilarity 95% of the time. To steal a phrase, comedy is easy. Character is hard."

another, shorter review by blogger of season finale of Hung:SPOILERS WITHIN:

"What is great is that Thomas Jane flexes more dramatic acting abilities as he tries to face each issue head on and exposes us to the most human element of his character."

I haven't seen Hung yet since I don't have HBO. Waiting patiently for the DVDs to be released. But I still like to read all the articles you post, Jen. I don't mind the spoilers. In fact, I look forward to seeing what my reaction will be to the show compared to all the opinions and descriptions I've read.

America's favorite male gigolo, though. That's a difficult tag to be saddles with. (Aren't all gigolos male? Anyway....)
