david allcock 0
I know I mentioned this before Tom but let me add my thoughts here in print as well. Congratulations! You really deserve the spotlight the show is bringing. You are a hard working sonofabitch and you've been very picky about your career choices with good reason. It's a hard road to stick to your guns, turn aside easy paydays in high profile summer blockbusters, direct a small film when you have a chance in your lap to star as every fanboy's favorite or second favorite WATCHMEN. There are lots of other examples. But you do what you have to do to be you and I respect the hell out of you for that. I hope you're taking a moment to enjoy this if only for a little bit. The show is great, you and the rest of the cast are wonderful in it, and I'm proud as hell of ya. Well done amigo. Now just remember, you don't have to wake up at 4:30AM every morning, not 'till next season starts rolling Get some sleep and the next round is on me. xo - TB here, here! I couldn't agree more. mediumfan 0
okay THAT is funny. T Glad you liked it. Btw, let me add my congratulations on the show and everything else. You deserve it and it's long overdue. Hope it keeps going for ya!
Thomas Jane 0
"The best thing here, surprisingly, is Thomas Jane, one of those movie stars who never happened, now turning to TV parts. Jane’s low-key charisma never quite worked on the big screen, where current male lead parts require someone with a bit more spark, but as a TV everyman, he’s surprisingly charismatic, turning Ray’s every word and move into what feel like last-ditch options, the things someone would do when backed into a corner. Jane’s easy-going nature and the brutal sense of disappointment he projects as the character makes the idea that Ray would come to the idea of becoming a prostitute so easily work almost better than it should." see, this here is why i don't read reviews! talk about a back handed compliment. all these great reviews of my work and this is a prime example of what haunts actors. we only remember quotes like this one. these people seem to think there's some kind of magic juice in a movie camera? well it's the SAME damn camera that we use for television, butthole! and 'work almost better than it should?' come on, dude. i bet this guys says to his wife after sex 'that was almost better than it should have been, baby!' thanks to everyone for compiling all the great reviews. and wow there are a LOT of them! it's nice to feel the love. except from anus breath here. if i had a bit more spark i'd drive to his house and torch it. 'hey! that was ALMOST better than it should!'

Oh and don't ever get on Fresh Air w/ Terry Gross. She's sweet, but misguided, and will never get over the juvenile draw of the show.
sidewaysgaze 0
Some more reviews about Hung: "Who knew that when HBO announced it was green-lighting a new series called "Hung" about, let's see, a well-endowed man, it would end up being kind of endearing? It's also funny —- which is good, since "Hung" is a comedy. But there's a lot of unexpected sweetness and who-knew depth to the story at hand..." and "Jane perfectly embodies a kind of regular Joe..." http://www.ajc.com/services/content/printe...5/hung0705.html and short Detroit-shot article: http://detroit.about.com/b/2009/07/07/hbos...tro-detroit.htm and another short article about filming Hung in Detroit area: http://www.mlive.com/entertainment/detroit...es_detroit.html and another review: "So in slightly-less brief: Watch it. And give it time." http://tunedin.blogs.time.com/2009/06/26/d...rt-hung-review/ and another review: "Dmitry Lipkin ("The Riches") and his wife, Colette Burson, are co- creators and co-executive producers of "Hung." They're onto something meaningful here, something rather profound..." http://www.denverpost.com/entertainment_old/ci_12704946 Jen

SonOfTheDark 0
Of course there are always exceptions, but overall the reviews are very positive and constructive, so you can be happy, Tom
Syvell 0
I'm really looking forward to seeing TJ in this one, because it sounds really good. But I do hope he doesn't end up in a long running TV series. I think it would be a shame, because he wouldn't get the chance so much to get involved in the projects he's really committted too, the ones he creates himself. He has so many ideas and talents - I want to see him in loads of different things. Hung was a great choice for him to do - but I hope he'll move on after those 10 episodes.... That's me thinking, after watching Mutant Chronicles again last night. Ok, of course, after watching the pilot I changed my mind! I want him to continue with that show! I love it and I don't care what critics say. People seem to love it and that's what counts.
johnpweber 0
"Hell, I just want my kids back" Sad to see that the running time is knocked down to 30 minutes, but funny as hell. Can't wait for next week!
kdedu 0
LMAO when I saw the "I just want my kids back"! My other favorite line was "can't they f*ck me for me?" I don't mind the 30 minute format. More than 30 minutes would require more characters w/ deeper plot lines and take away from the heart of the show - Ray and Tanya. Hell, considering the topic, we should be so lucky - it could last only 10 minutes!
Guest AdminGuyX
I was sure Entourage would lead the hour once it premiered, I think it's cool that HUNG leads in at 10! The half hour went by really fast. It's a damned confident show. I mean it feels like it's been on for years already. That's how solid the chemistry is. And my wife is now officially in love with you Tom, thanks to all the skin this week. I hope you're happy pal. TWICE I had to hear about your abs, and then later on I had to hear about how I need to lose some weight.
mediumfan 0
This one was even funnier than the first one. I laughed out loud at the "I want my kids back" line too! Hilarious! Lenore was a scream too! The scene in the salon had me rolling. I'm still not loving Anne Heche's character. She's kinda flat and a little too shrill for me. But then most of her characters are a little shrill anyway. But the botox scene had me cracking up. The scene with Ray and Lenore was a riot too! Don't want to give too much away for those who haven't seen it, but let me just say, Yuuummyy!!!
sidewaysgaze 0
...and Hung review of 2nd episode: "While Thomas Jane is the main reason I'm watching, Jane Adams is a whole lot of fun in this episode..." http://www.nj.com/entertainment/tv/index.s...sode_two.\ html and a blogger's review: "If you missed the pilot of Hung, you may be surprised to find that the show isn't just likable, it might be lovable..." http://downwithtyranny.blogspot.com/2009/0...-you-may-\ be.html Jen
irish46 0
Finally got my wife to watch this and she just freak'n loved it. Great show with awesome characters played by even awsomer actors...KEEP EM CUMMING.
Arsh 0
I'm two episodes in now (decided to check this show because it's running with True Blood, one of my favourite shows). Alright Mr. Jane, you've sold me. Hung is hilarious. I'm definitely looking forward to future episodes. Hilarious stuff. Hope it lasts longer than Lipkin's last series, The Riches. Cool stuff. mediumfan 0
Don't want to speak too soon and put a jinx on anything, but this is definitely looking like HBO's next big thing. Ratings for the second episode were waay up. Looks promising for a (hope*hope*fingers crossed) second season. -- The second episode of new comedy "Hung" grew 29% from its season premiere to earn 3.6 million viewers. “Blood” is essentially considered a lock for a third season renewal, and “Hung” is almost certain to nab a second season, though no decision has been yet announced on either show. http://www.thrfeed.com/2009/07/entourage-h...od-ratings.html I think it's so cool that both Thomas and his wife are now enjoying much deserved success and that they are now a two-television-series family. Hope it keeps going for them.

SonOfTheDark 0
For anyone who didn't see it, here is the The View show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeDC3-CvDvU It actually was fun to watch... "I had to go into the next room to take my clothes off, so I wouldn't hit anybody." Haha, good one Tom. But you didn't take that from the thread here, did you? ^^ "I hand my wife the script, hey this thing is called Hung, they want me to play the title character-" "That's great, more Science Fiction." mediumfan 0
That was a really funny interview. Cute the way Barbara W. was trying to figure out how to talk about the show without saying what it was actually about. And the flirting! Too cute! I think she's got a thing for you, TJ!
