The Punisher: WarZone

Plus all the story and character moments in Hulk, is like the reason people said it was dog shit (I personally think it's a beautiful film to watch). They just wanted a "Hulk mad! Hulk smash!" movie, and that's what came out this year.

Leterrier's Incredible Hulk is a great film.

Ang Lee's HULK is good too but has too many problems.

-Bad editing that make certain frames look like panels from a comic.

-Eric Bana was a bad casting choice for Bruce Banner.

-Nick Nolte was over the [fuckin roof] top.

-The CGI was very poor, specifically with the dogs and the Absorbing Man.

-The film has a dark tone yet it acts PG at many times, Talbot's death comes to mind.

Its a good film, but Norton's is much better.

The general film going public IS STUPID.

Fred

It's a tad insulting to Johnny "I want to be entertained" Filmgoer, but it's a broad generalization THAT FITS.

I'd like to thank those "general film goers" for wasting all their money on Leviathan and Deep Star Six so The Abyss could tank at the Box Office. And I'd like to thank them for the ever-increasing amounts of shit Hollywood continues to put money into developing and releasing. Bravo!

It DOES fit. "Deep Impact" and "Armaggedon" are a couple classic exemples. As a film, "Deep Impact" is much better (thought the name is so pornorific), yet "Armaggedon" dominated at the box office. Why? Becuase of big name actors, papercutter plot, huge special effects and badass grandstanding. It was a movie where you really didn't need to think. Not that I don't occasionally enjoy some mindless humor.

Again, I reference the film "Idiocracy". Sometimes I feel it won't be long before we're all sitting around giggling a dude taking a nut shot over and over.

Fucking David Zucker, the guy who made Airplane, The Naked Gun, Top Secret has a new one coming out. And holy shit does it look, well like shit. The guy lost his funny either around the time he did BASEketball or when he became a republican, I'm not sure which came first.

for me it was always about frank, i mean i love the whole superhero thing but its hard to really get close to something like that. but for me, he was someone that could be real, his anger, his need for revenge, no matter what the out come was.....Mr. Jane was the first time i saw what i pictured in my mind frank would act like...how he would sound, outside the comic i came to love.....i don't know what this new film will be like, and being someone who loves the comic so much maybe i might be too jaded and hard about it....but i do always have one thing.....that special edition.....i pop it in and watch the Iraq intro....Mr. Bradstreet's kick ass art, and well i skip to my favorite Mr. Jane parts.....either way, i as a fan win.....

maybe so Mr. Logan but i do believe without people like yourself making your voice heard,we would have way shittier films out there....(shittier is a word) so i do believe in the end it is left up to us fans, even if it feels like a losing battle......

Thomas, this may shock the shit out of you, but I wish they had listened to YOU. Would be a hell of a lot better film. They should have let you write the fucking thing!!!

And for all those reading this, NO SARCASM HERE! TL and I are working on a project together and the script sold me on it...HIS script and something I normally wouldn't do. He's a VERY talented writer and could have NAILED a Punisher script.

Dude, if LGF was willing to make a Punisher script by me - I'd be terrified.

They'd probably try to re-write it and I'd pull a Kurt Sutter on them.

I would also specify the script would be fitted for Jane ONLY.

That's why our Indie movie is gonna be KICKASS.

No studio breathing down my neck editing me or cheesing me up.

Peter Weller would put you in detention for saying that.

LOL. Nothing against Pete. He was the best thing about Leviathan.

And if you saw the other two films and still paid to see Cameron's then my faith is restored in those individuals ;)

Let me be honest.

The only reason I nagged my Mom to buy me a VHS copy of The Abyss back when I was 5 feet tall, was because my favorite cousin Pete told me Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio or in his words "The chick from Scarface" was topless in the movie.

It wasn't until I got a DVD copy of it a few years ago that I really began to appreciate the film and the greatness of one Ed Harris.

Anyone 5' tall or under cannot be held accountable for their taste in this equation.

Most people under that height requirement are under 16 years (generalization) of age.

At 16, I wasn't the most savvy filmgoer myself. Hell, I paid money to see Kill And Kill Again . . . ('course it was only $2.50 - $3.00 back then).

You can't really blame the young'uns. They like what they like and so be it.

Problem is those young'uns have a hell of a lot more $ these days then when I was a pup.

And it's those pre-SAT, video game addicted (not saying there is anything wrong with that) . . . kids that are the major guilty party shelling out dough for the newest, loudest Hollywood grunt-sculpture.

Considering this, I guess almost all hope is lost ;)

Oh well, the really good stuff has always been hardest to find, and that's one of the fun aspects to it.

I must now go and renew my cinematic serenity by watching Children Of Men again.
