Wouldn't that be so totally awesome, Tiara? :P

Gotta say I agree about those actors that I'd love to see TJ work with. Another one that would be an awesome pairing is TJ and Clint Eastwood. I'd love to see them together in a Western. (I know it sounds cliched, but I love Westerns and I think TJ is perfect for them.)

Imagine the fans in the audience and see TJ trading conversation with Eastwood. I think we would be cheering too much...

Killshot is on some "most anticipated movies" lists of various bloggers. Here's a couple of links:

Again, from Elmore Leonard's official site at http://www.elmoreleonard.com/, posted in December 2008, he mentions " Will The Wrestler's success determine whether Killshot is released or not?...Nobody knows, not even Harvey Weinstein. "

He also posted a link to this review of Killshot. Possible plot spoilers, so read at your own risk:

"the performances are what carries this crime/thriller based on the novel by Elmore Leonard..."

and

"Killshot has elements from some contemporary crime/thrillers..."

Read up on the Killshot release debacle from the Cape Girardeau side,

where some of the film was shot, way back in 2006. They have some

more recent info about the release of Killshot - and by "info", I

mean that no one knows anything on the distributors side, still! :0

Based on info from 2 of the movie theaters in the Cape Girardeau area

who want to show Killshot, it sounds like the film won't be released

to them - and that the film may now be released in limited form in

February - maybe to 60 theaters!? *Sigh*...

Hmmm, well, Mickey Rourke just won a Golden Globe, so... they'd better get on the ball with Killshot!!

"Mickey Rourke returned from the wilderness to earn the Globe for best dramatic actor in "The Wrestler," a film whose comeback theme paralleled the actor's own journey back from Hollywood pariah.

"There ain't no quit in me," said Rourke, whose role as a washed-up wrestler with one last shot at glory re-established him as a viable star after he wrecked his career with bad behavior in the 1990s. "I didn't care about repercussions, and I paid the price for that. It took 13, 14 years for the doors to open up again."

"The Wrestler" also won the best-song Globe for Bruce Springsteen , who wrote the film's title tune."

It must be official. Rotten Tomatoes has it listed on their homepage as coming soon. It has a date of 1/23 next to it. This must be it ladies and gentlemen!!! I am so damn excited and happy and all those other warm and fuzzy emotions. Even if it's just a limited release it still means it will make it's way to dvd soon enough.

Congratulations Tom!

NEW TRAILER FOR "KILLSHOT"!

Loads of new scenes, loadsa Lane, Jane, Rourke and Levitt!

No Knoxville at all. He's definately gone.

Here it is, and it rocks! :

Mickey Rourke said (in typical Rourke style) that the problems with "KILLSHOT" started when "they hired an actor and he sucked. So they cut his scenes out and then realised it didn't make sense. They screwed up the ending and, so were left with a thumb up their ass." I guess he is talking about Johnny Knoxville here.

Diane Lane (who has quit the industry as of Oct 08) said that the dailies were all good and everybody had a good feeling about the film. There was never any thoughts that all this would happen. Other than that she was cagey and said that she didn't expect to see it anytime soon. This (delays etc) happened to another of her recent films "Fierce People". No wonder she is frustrated and disappointed and giving up the acting career. Sheesh.

Anyway... I am now finally EXCITED!

These guys - http://www.filmcolony.com/ - who are a production house for "Killshot" reckon it's showing on 5 screens in Phoenix at best!

Now that is what I call a LIMITED release - 5 f**king screens!

Apparently, Harvey Weinstein doesn't like it and won't release it (yet spent a shitload of money casting, shooting and re-shooting it!)

Tom man... You heard anything buddy!?

Here's something from JoBlo:

The action thriller KILLSHOT has all the makings of a bad ass flick - it's directed by John Madden and stars Mickey Rourke and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as hitmen who hunt down Diane Lane and Thomas Jane after they witness one if Rourke's hits and are placed in witness protection. Yet there's no excitement because The Weinstein Company's business strategy involves making movies, not actually releasing them so KILLSHOT, which was supposed to be released two years ago will be released January 23rd. Check out a pretty cool new trailer below and help start some buzz.

If that's the case, why bother with the new trailer?

love the new trailer its a massive improvement over the old one

Except that Tom's in this one less, I think... :(

Or at least the briefly-shown scenes where he's on the couch in his jammy bottoms with Diane Lane, and getting up from said couch, and when he's in the bathroom and they show him punching someone (if I recall correctly from the 1st trailer) are not in this new trailer! Double :(

i think he was punching knoxville in the bathroom which would explain why the scene is gone in the new trailer

WTF? The Weinstein Company will release low budget, poorly acted, pointless horror movies like clockwork, but won't do something with Killshot? This smacks of stupidity!

I just want to know if TJ and Rourke have scenes together; that alone would be worth the price of admission!

or alternatively, just watch 'Thursday' ... if you can find a copy :P

I love these kind of small town rural films.

I second you there. They feel more real and usually end up unpredicable. As a side note about Harvey not liking it, I think he should look back at all the crap he has put out in the past. There have been some gems mind you, but over all... eh.

I saw a Philadelphia paper online that had the "opening films" for this coming weekend, and it had Killshot listed! I hope this means what I think it does - that it actually is coming out, although maybe only in select cities (goodness, I dislike that term, especially when not near a select city!)... I hope the release of the film makes some inroads to some "towns" also... I guess we'll find out this Friday!

It's listed as coming out on IMDB too. Nearly fell of my chair in disbelief. I figure that means we should see it on this side of the pond in 6 months or so... groan

Yippee, I hope that is true! I really hope that we will see a release for it soon. Maybe Weinstein's decision to capitalize on the success of The Wrestler (if that was his plan) will pay off and this movie will do well at the box office. It'd be nice to see TJ have a blockbuster release (even if he doesn't get top billing). And after two years of waiting, it's the least that the fans deserve. ;)
