Surprisingly unimaginative indeed for an artistic mind like his. Maybe his daughter’s idea? He seems to love Cat quite a bit, surely he calls his girls by their name? Enaira 0
I don't share your opinion here. I don't know anyone with a cat named Cat. So it's different, if not inventive. It has a second degree humor to it that I enjoy. If the Monty Pythons had done it in a sketch, the world would say genius! Don't you think?

Ah, well, I did used to work with somebody who did exactly that, purely because they couldn't think of a name (which is probably why I equated it with unimaginative) although I do take your point about it being different. I can't believe we're actually discussing his pet's name!! And sorry, I never got the Monty Python sense of humour - went way over my head
Geoff 0
Do you "loonies" need a separate thread for this?? On a personal note Tom and I had a good chuckle over the name, as I have a friend whose dog is called Defer. Took me ages to work it out and I let Thomas stew for a while before I told him too. We had a good laugh so daft sense of humor I guess. Back on topic now.
Geoff 0
http://www.stumpedmagazine.com/interviews/tom-jane/ Little interview from 2005 Id not seen before showing some of the pitfalls in not preparing your questions.

Some questions in the posts so Ill try and answer: Yes she is and her name is in fact "Cat" He'll be here at some point. He loves Europe and is often over our side of the world when on vacation. From memory Im sure the new artist we have lined up for The Lycan is Spanish so Tom will be there at points in the near future. The premier for Warning will likely take place in Poland (place of shooting) so no doubt Thomas will be invited there too and of course we are hoping that Aftershock promote The Lycan across Europe on its release so we should have more opportunities then too. Fingers crossed then. You previously mentioned he’s on vacation right now, correct? Sooo maybe he’s in Europe as we speak! Keep your eyes open ladies!

Love this interview - TJ seems really chilled and chatty, and Jojo is adorable, does look a lot like a young Cat (well she is a young cat, but I mean..........ah, you know what I mean!!) Gail 0
Been having a trawl round the interweb and come across this oldish podcast - don’t know if it’s been posted here before but if it has I’ve missed it. I’m about half way through it so far, Tom sounded to be on good form and happy to reminisce. I love listening to him like this, he never sounds like he’s playing the big ‘I Am’, never brags despite huge name drops (!), such a cool guy https://consequenceofsound.net/2017/10/episode-37-thomas-jane-interview/amp/
Enaira 0
Thank you Gail, I just finished listening to this interview. Oh man, I really have to watch the fucking 1922 asap. We've been discussing getting into Netflix for the duration of the trial period since May... but summer isn't a good time to bingewatch anything. We're out every weekend and my pile of French crime movies is only reduced by one until now. I have soo many cool stuff to watch! (I'm not complaining even if it might sound like it!). So now comes the fall and it's my chance to see 1922. Anyway, it was a great chilled out interview. Enjoyed it very much.
Gail 0
Makes a nice change for me to bring something new to the boards!! Glad you enjoyed it Ariane, and yes you most definitely have to watch 1922 as a matter of urgency - if your jaw doesn't ache by the end of it, something's gone wrong! I found myself clenching my jaw along with Wilf for most of it, and it really is one of Tom's best ever (in my opinion anyway!) I love interviews like this that are so laid back he doesn't even bother to mind his language, you get the feeling that this is the 'real' TJ talking and not just giving the sound bites that a publicist has pre-approved. Interestingly the link you share is listing all the movies mentioned during the discussion, even if briefly mentioned. I notice I missed a few! The link is different than the one shared on page 4 of this thread ("The movies that made me"). If you go back within this theead you'll find a list including the time stamps. I find it helpful and have actually used it to jump back and forth while discussing with friends.
