sidewaysgaze 0
Lion's Gate has picked up distro of LOL, but no release date set yet: http://www.monstersandcritics.com/movies/n...gate-goes\ -with-LOL Jen
sidewaysgaze 0
Empire magazine in U.K. is reporting an October 21st release, but I don't know the info for the U.S. On October 21, brace yourselves for the return of Miley Cyrus in Laughing out Loud – also know, inevitably, as LOL. Based on the 2008 French film of the same name, this focuses on a teenager's everyday life and relationship with her equally unsorted mother. Cyrus is Lola, aka Lol, and Demi Moore is her mum. Expect peer pressure, parental interference, high school romance and support from Thomas Jane, Gina Gershon and Ashley Greene. http://www.celebritysentry.com/post/empire...-movie-preview/ Jen
sidewaysgaze 0
Tom had this to say about his co-star, Miley Cyrus: "She's a wonderful girl."" More from Tom at: http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/marc_malki...n#ixzz1ByeVrXLQ Jen
sidewaysgaze 0
I just read in a magazine that the USA release date is for May, but I don't know if that's definite. Jen
Geoff 0
From my understanding the the release date is still Oct for this for both USA & UK. (21st still seems to be the actual release date)
sidewaysgaze 0
This 'Disney'-related article on a non-Disney seems to confirm the October release date for both UK (the 21st as previously stated) and US (a general 'October'). You'd think they'd get it together by now for a US release! "The release dates, include several countries but not the specific U.S. premiere date for an unknown reason.. Release dates shown (as announced) below: UK – 21 October 2011 Czech Republic – 9 March 2012 Lithuania – 9 March 2012 Hungary – 29 March 2012 Despite rumors, U.S. has been set for an early “October” release.." http://access.disneychannelphotos.tv/2011/...tion-announced/ Jen
Rosella 0
Here’s the trailer for LOL: http://www.thedeadbolt.com/1003024371-miley-cyrus-laughs-in-new-lol-trailer.html I believe it needs much more TJ.
sidewaysgaze 0
Ack, he's like spluttering into his coffee near the end of the preview and that's it, as far as what I could see! Tom had better be in this movie much more if I have to sit there and endure Miley Cyrus for over an hour! LOL Uhhh, nothing against Miley Cyrus, but she's not my cup of coffee... mediumfan 0
Lol! (No pun intended!) I thought the same thing when I saw the trailer, Jen. I was surprised to see that there was only a brief glimpse of Thomas in it, and I didn't see his name in the credits at all. What's up with that? Hope they didn't cut his part down. Guest AdminGuyX
I had a feeling Tom wasn't going to be in the trailer. This is a Miley Cyrus movie, so it's going to be aimed at the Hannah Montana crowd and they probably have no idea who Tom is. Demi they probably know. That's my guess anyway. sidewaysgaze 0
What bugs me, is that in the "plot" that the trailer shows, it looks like Demi's kissing another guy in it - and I thought Tom was playing the boyfriend of Demi's character. Maybe I'm wrong. I forget the plot now and I haven't seen the original French film. It's also been so long since this movie was made! I can't believe they haven't rolled this out sooner, like in the summer, when you'd get more of the Miley crowd having time to go to the movies to see it. Jen
sidewaysgaze 0
Still no release date? Come on...! In the meantime, here is a link to a pic of Tom from the movie (8th one down), proving that he is in it at some point!! http://anythingdisney.livejournal.com/6205367.html Jen
johnpweber 0
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I think Lionsgate shelved the film: http://disneyinfonet...e-totally-true/
Geoff 0
Yup Im hearing its been put on the shelf also. Is that also the back of TJ's head talking with Demi in still no. 3 - well thats a leat two scenes then lol - (oh we all have to stop doing LOL!!!)
Rosella 0
My only reason for seeing this movie is because of Tom, but it’s still disappointing to not know how or when it’ll be released. I can just picture finding it in a store someday without any notice.
sidewaysgaze 0
Not sure how this reviewer/site in India got a chance to see the film, but they review it here: "Thomas Jane (as Lola's father) is alright." At least we know Tom's in it... http://www.koimoi.com/reviews/lol-review/ Jen PS There are some possible plot spoilers, unless you've seen the French version or have read about the storyline elsewhere. sidewaysgaze 0
Here's link to 2nd trailer for LOL, but I don't think Tom's in it. It focuses on Miley Cyrus's character and her boyfriend. sidewaysgaze 0
Ugh. Yet again, LionsGate drops the ball and is not focused on promoting LOL, which will open in limited release on May 4th in the U.S. in supposedly 100 or more movie theaters. Read the disappointing details here: http://www.ontheredcarpet.com/Miley-Cyrus-long-awaited-movie-LOL-gets-limited-re\ lease-date/8630200 Jen

Read the disappointing details here: http://www.ontheredcarpet.com/Miley-Cyrus-long-awaited-movie-LOL-gets-limited-re\ lease-date/8630200 Jen Read something about that on Yahoo as well. Lionsgate is just dumping it to fulfill contractual obligation. Maybe after success of Hunger Games, Lionsgate doesn't feel the need to trump a turd and lose cash? Even if it has our guy in it which is the only reason I'd check it out.
sidewaysgaze 0
So, is this movie playing near anyone? Has anyone seen it yet? It came out in limited release this Friday and it ain't playin' near me... I saw a blurb online about Miley Cyrus hanging out with the director a couple days before the film's opening. Come to think of it, they didn't even do a red carpet premiere, did they?! Talk about dropping a film! I mean, come on, Miley has a pretty big fanbase and is in the news a lot, and Demi Moore's got a high profile. You would think someone would want to capitalize on all that. sidewaysgaze 0
Ugh, well, I guess I have to post this disappointing news about the box office returns for LOL... The thing is, what did they expect when the film wasn't promoted at all and there was no red carpet or interviews with Miley or Demi! I mean, come on! I don't care if they have a lot of "negative press". LionsGate was in control of this movie and they should back up what they produce... http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie-talk/miley-cyrus-lol-bombs-box-office-180407154.html Jen
sunshine 0
It didn't play here in Canada this weekend. That's too bad...shame on Lionsgate for not backing them up. Does this mean it's going straight to DVD?
