johnpweber 0
Everything is looking great Gary. Just out of couriosity, how much of what you've seen is what you imagined while writing Eli?
Padre 0
io9 have a bunch of new stills for the film: http://io9.com/5432479/the-unholy-beauty-o...-world/gallery/ Can't wait for this, its right up my street.
gwhitta 0
The official site has just been totally relaunched. Now opens with a new trailer (my favorite one so far) and features a bunch of new stuff including new images, downloadable wallpapers, concept art with storyboard-to-screen comparisons (check out that feature in "The Look of Eli", it's pretty cool how they've done it), synopsis, production notes, a post-apocalyptic survival guide (!) and other cool stuff. You can also listen to the main title theme from the movie in its entirety, just click on any of the items across the top menu bar. www.bookofelimovie.com Some of the new images:

kdedu 0
Three new TV spots: (my favorite) Oh Gary! I literally levitated off the couch for you the other day. I'm not a big TV watcher & I don't have cable but the one time I sat down & turned the box on, there was spot #3, right in the middle of the Skins/Cowboy game! Enjoy all the wonderful things that come to you in 2010, you've worked hard for it.
westonfront 0
Here's one of my favourite shots from the film and the storyboard that inspired it:
Guest AdminGuyX
Stunning work. Chris, I truly hope we get a "book of eli" highlighting all your work! It's awesome. Gary, man, thank you for the continued coverage, photos, and news! I can't wait to see this!!!!
gwhitta 0
Some nice advance word from Latino Review: A few weeks ago I saw two of the best films of this year Daybreakers and The Book of Eli and I'm dying to talk about them almost as much as I'm dying to see them again. Unfortunately, I'm forbidden from officially reviewing them at this time. The Book of Eli is the film I thought The Road should have been, an epic post apocalyptic tale with an American western theme as well as a samurai warrior vibe. Denzel Washington gives one of his best performances as an enigmatic and cool character who just may be the savior of humanity. Though there is plenty of action, what makes it work are a great story, memorable performances and an editing and visual style that give the film the feel of a graphic novel. The Hughes Brothers have redeemed their past mistakes with a great movie featuring exciting twists including one involving their story's conclusion which I didn't see coming. http://www.latinoreview.com/news/10-reason...great-year-8889
gwhitta 0
Couple of TV notes: Denzel Washington will be on The Jay Leno Show (NBC, 10pm) to talk about the movie, I imagine they will show a clip. Also, there is an "HBO First Look" (13-minute behind the scenes preview) tonight at 10:45pm. Tim Bradstreet 0
This truly is a poster after my own heart. I'm avoiding all promo cause I love to walk into the theater with no preconceived notions other than what we've seen on the posters and in the pictures (which I tried to only glance at quickly I'll be in my seat watching Eli this Sunday evening for the late show. Best of luck Gary, Chris W, TLE, Ray S, and to my buddy-pal, Chris Browning! I hope Eli RAKES. - TB
Aly 0
I first heard about this movie from the posts here on RAW when I was deployed. That got me really interested in the movie and then I started watching the trailers and reading up on it. I got excited to see this film. When I got back to the states I went home to Indianapolis to be with the Fam and on my long drive back, when I finally reached a close proximity to my house I started seeing TONS of billboards for The Book of Eli! Well dammit if that didn't make me more excited to see this movie! Too bad I was driving to fast to catch a picture with my phone of the 5 or so billboards I saw in the 30 miles from downtown Philly to my house in NJ to show everyone how much they are reppin this movie out here, but I just gotta say that...This is the one movie I'm really excited to see! Good luck Gary! I know this is gonna do very well! -Aly
SonOfTheDark 0
Interesting interview with Gary: http://www.donedealpro.com/members/details...p;section_id=11 And a pretty positive script review (Attention, I think there are some spoilers!): http://scriptshadow.blogspot.com/2010/01/book-of-eli.html I can't wait to see this in theaters in February
Padre 0
Great interview. Breaking Die Hard down really is a good way to learn the basics of screenplay structure. As a template goes you can't get any better.

Tim Bradstreet 0
Opening Day!!! Sunday night I'm heading to the screen for this with a posse of genre nerds. I just hope no one blows the end for me before then. To ensure no one drops any spoilers I've opened a new thread for thoughts, reviews, and more love for Book Of Eli! - TB

Tim Bradstreet 0
If you're as head over heels in love with Atticus Ross' score for this film as I am then check this out - Heads up courtesy of Gary Whitta http://www.bookofelimusic.com/ They have a special edition Vinyl pressing coming out in Feb but it's a very limited run and once they're gone, they're gone. I grabbed the iTunes expanded with 4 additional tracks which is awesome but I also have to have a hard copy cause I'm a sucker for great music and packaging. Apologies if this has already been discussed. - TB
