    I JUST...

...won a blu ray copy of The Mist in a pub quiz. Happy days
  2. Now this is awesome: http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/exclusive-...one-in-headshot
  3. I guess High Plains Drifter and Pale Rider would qualify. They're a rare breed though.
  4. Although it’s far from a classic I thought Hellraiser: Deader was decent. A lot of that has to do with Kari Wuhrer’s performance, which goes above and beyond the call of duty. It even had a couple of decent scenes of suspense. But in the case of that movie it was an original script unrelated to the series that had some Hellraiser stuff shoehorned into it, and it shows. The lack of respect shown to the series in last decade is amazing. Five films, all shot on a shoestring, all direct to video. The first 3 films are favourites of mine and as a fan it’s been pretty dispiriting to see how f
  5. Here’s a review of the latest direct to dvd sequel, the one they shot on the super cheap (minus Doug Bradley as Pinhead) to retain the rights to the series. Turns out its a bit crap: http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/review/4949
  6. I always assumed they'd reboot the series after the next film (Bale and Nolan have made it pretty clear they'd only stick around for 3 films) but you'd think WB would at least wait until the film came out before announcing a reboot. The body’s not even cold yet! For me I think it would be interesting if they waited a few years for Bale to age and then tackled The Dark Knight Returns. That’s a story I’d love to see told on the big screen. But I doubt they’d let the franchise sit still for a decade or so to allow that to happen, which is fair enough too.
  7. Saw it tonight, finally. It was a lot better then I was expecting. I went in thinking it would be a fun but brainless shoot em up but it actually had a bit of emotional depth to it. The Rock was awesome (man is he BUILT these days) and the rest of the cast did a good job. The score and cinematography were top notch too. I did figure out the twist but it was well played when it came. I hope The Rock does more flicks like this, he was made for them.
  8. Here's a cool little intro to the comic series. They're not holding back on the gore anyway : http://www.clivebarker.info/newshrboom.html
  9. I'm just glad its finally available in Region B. Looking forward to seeing it at last
  10. He was the reason I was excited for this. Its a real shame I played the Wolverine videogame recently. Its not that great but it was violent as hell. It was nice to see the actual damage his claws could do. For example:
  11. Nice. And follow this chap while your there. He's definitely not me : http://twitter.com/#!/PADDY_C00L
  12. Saw it last night with a friend and had a blast. It has the best use of 3D I've seen so far, and Fichtner was just quality. Sad to say there was only about 4 or 5 other people in the theater though
  13. The Tron: Legacy soundtrack. Awesome. It added so much to the film. Just wish the tracks were a bit longer.

  15. Was there a story mapped out for Tom and Walter Hill's version of The Punisher 2? I vaguely remember hearing it was about Frank and a female FBI agent going after Jigsaw when he kidnaps the agent's daughter. If there was a story then maybe it would be nice to see it become a comic itself, or maybe an animated movie. At least that way we'd get to see what could have been.
  16. Finally saw it tonight. It was as good as everyone has been saying. Its like a female version of The Wrestler combined with Jacobs Ladder, which makes for a very good mix.
  17. The scene in the bathroom in Origins when you first see his claws caused fits of laughter in the cinema when I saw it. They looked ridiculous. I didn’t despise Origins the way a lot of people did but it felt very cut and paste. There were some good scenes mixed with some horrible ones. And the plot holes were enormous. That said I’m really looking forward to Aronofsky’s take on it. He one of my favourite directors working today. And he seems to bring the best out of Jackman as an actor, if The Fountain is anything to go by.
  18. QUOTE (Thomas Jane @ Feb 16 2011, 01:55 AM) why dontcha just order your very own copy from the store here, RAW DEAL? pick up a copy and tell us all what ya think! That sounds like a good solution to the problem alright . I never could find another copy of it down here.
  19. Geekiest thing ever? I was at a retro screening of The Terminator last year, and to pass the time before it started me and a couple of friends decided to pretend it actually was 1984. This led to chats about “upcoming” films like Gremlins, Ghostbusters and how we’re all looking forward to Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom. We also talked about Return of the Jedi and Jaws 3D, and how 3D is just a fad that will never catch on. I’ve never felt like such a frigging nerd in my entire life

    Dead Island

You don't need to be a gamer to appreciate this. Its a pretty incredible piece of work: http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/7104...e-On-Earth.html
  21. I really liked The Punisher: The End one-shot from a few years ago too. Pretty bleak but it has some nice black humour too. And the ending is perfect.
  22. Really cool poster Tim. Hope it gets used when the film is released. And a happy birthday too . Have a good one.
  23. Get Castle was a great little story. I love the way Frank starts to questions himself after he hesitates shooting a drug dealer at the beginning. It’s nice to see a little bit of internal life to Frank and that he’s not just a heartless machine. The ending with the helicopter is a bit OTT but it works. I’ve heard good things about Punisher Max: Kingpin. Anyone read it?
  24. Conroy has the best voice without a doubt. Bale actually sounds pretty good in that little clip. If he could just do that in the next film he'd be set.
