My Bloody Valentine - 3D

Recommended Posts

Here's a link to the trailer

I've been having fun listening to the all the behind the scenes craziness that went into making this film from RAW brother, Todd Farmer.

Yep, the Alien Pig Farm 3000 scribe wrote the screenplay for this and his pal and our friend Patrick Lussier directed.

Farmer even acts in this! Can't bloody wait ;)

Also, our friends at Paradise FX, who did the 3D work on Dark Country provided all of the 3D insanity for MBV 3-D.

We already know how good they are. You're gonna find out in 48 days.

Another piece of good news is that Punisher Warzone Composer Michael Wandmacher created the score for MBV 3-D.

I sometimes LOVE a small world ;)

So that's why the MPAA gave it an R for EDITED* among other things.

*Sorry Mike, I'll explain later

Just stumbled on this awesome interview with Todd Farmer.

Lot's of MBV content + a helluva lot more.

Todd's insane in the best possible way, and you get a great taste of it here.

Great Interview!

And Farmer's right, those damn yetti's will get you every time. Next time he should try fishin' for Pahoha or water babies at Pyramid Lake or Mono Lake - those tots are tedious!

Thanks for the link, Tim. Very cool interview. MBV is one of my favorites, but I'm certainly not against a new take on the story....can't hurt that Jensen Ackles will star- he really is fantastic in Supernatural.

Hopefully we can get Todd to stop by and share some other fantastic nuggets.

I guarantee you that MBV is going to surprise a lot of people and make some bank.

The "Amazing Criswell" in me predicts it ;)

I've been chasing and getting my balls kicked by this thing called Hollywood since '96. MBV3D is the most fun I've ever had making a movie. It's the first time I've been proud...really proud of the finished product. We hit obstacles like all flicks do but rather than slide backwards we bulldozed through the blockades. Wandmacher, Paradise FX, Skywalker Sound, Lussier, a crew you want backing you when you're in that dark alley and a cast that made me look like a better writer. I have no complaints. :)

If you've got the Amazing Criswell in you, Tim, we've gotta get him out!

I have it. Todd writes it, you direct it - Finding Criswell

The tragic story of artist Tim Bradstreet's struggle to extricate the disembodied spirit of The Amazing Criswell from his tortured psyche.

Bradstreet will be portrayed by Sopranos star, James Gandolfini.

Reprising his role from Ed Wood will be actor Jeffrey Jones as The Amazing Criswell.

Now the synopsis is more accurate.

OK, with Farmer dropping from the script duties our budget just got cut in half.

Brian, you're writing, directing, and you gotta wear the Crafty hat too.

I hear Walmart has a sale on Moon Pies. Can you make sure you add those to your shopping list?

Also, Farmer only drinks Rattle Snake urine and Wild Turkey.

I'd like an 8 week supply of Funions and a pass key to the executive honey wagon.

Wait. Budget? This isn't for free? Well, blow me sideways on a seesaw. You never said nothing about anyone getting paid.

Why would you need an 8 week supply of anything? If it's a Criswell movie, we're gonna have to shoot it in 4 days.

And if that's the case, Todd, there probably won't be any craft service.

Oh, and I guess I should mention that Mr. Gandolfini would like to have room to interpret the role and focus on his craft, so you're not allowed on set, Tim. Sorry, buddy. But you've had to deal with that before, right?

Bradstreet goes through a two week supply before sundown. So an 8 week supply is cutting it close. We have three rain days then we're gonna have issues.

It's NOT a Criswell movie, it's a TIM BRADSTREET movie!

That guarantees us an above the line budget of 5 million, and a shooting budget of $1.9 million.

2 million for Gandolfini.

1 million for Todd and I to split (even if Todd backs out of writing he still gets paid a fee for on set comic relief and for hazard pay).

You're in for $175 a day.

Jones wants to be paid in porn (I won't mention which kind).

And we'll only be shooting for two hours a day at magic hour/s.

That's 8 weeks of Funions Bitch ;)

Followed by 8 weeks of apologies for derailing this most excellent thread.

Can I help with the lighting?

I have some experience with holding a lamp for several hours and being a muti-axis appendage to get the angle just right.

FUNYUNS? I suppose those will be exclusively for Tim, right?

I was going to offer to run the camera on this shoot.

Got to see the trailer on the big screen today in front of Punisher WarZone.

LOVED IT on the big screen. The movie looks awesome, can't wait to be there and have my face lit on fire.

Yeah, it should be a nice gory time at the movies....in 3D!!!!!

Plus I've become quite the fan of Jensen Ackles because of Supernatural, though no one can fuck Jim Beaver on that show (seriously how awesome of a name is Jim Beaver).
