One the of the big's bit of information from  last night slightly slipped in is the new production company that Thomas has set up with his friend Courtney Lauren Penn. Renegade!

Courtney has a mass of experience in production, acting and directing. . https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3599831/ and also mentioned that the rights have been picked up from the Stephen King book "From a Buick 8" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/From_a_Buick_8 - Now dont be mistaken for thinking its an updated Christine. It isnt! and this is going to be the first thing going through Renegade. (it will receive its own thread as it move along)

This one is a big thing for Tom so we will add more information here as we move along. We may even be lucky enough hear from Courtney too at points.

Exciting news indeed, 'specially since they've already got the rights to a Stephen King book!  I did search Miss Penn during the q&a - seems like a a safe pair of hands!

Ha! I love that sunshine’s question got a little early scoop. Very nice! :D

Is TJ aware that there already is a company called Renegade Productions?

https://www.renegadeproductions.com/

Coincidentally (or not), it’s out of Hunt Valley, Maryland & is considered the largest in the Baltimore-Washington, DC area.

So did TJ & CLPenn just buy it or is their production company 100% new?

Good point, not sure if it will just stay as Renegade, Renegade Productions Inc, Renegade Pictures.....(Title changed)

Its completely new as far as I know. We spoke about it in March when I saw him and at that point it was very new so might not have settle on final names & logos etc. Might even get its own site (I think that would kinda make sense). Exciting times.

Renegade Pictures exists, too.

So they might have to just stick with Renegade or another variation.

Although, RENEGADE by itself is the title of a TV series. :P

I would think that it would need its own website. & if they started a forum for it, I'd join in a heartbeat!

Thanks to Rosella I got my answer (sad to hear about AMDFASH) but this is great news! I'm guessing the Western will never be? :(

I knew how passionate you were about that project. Well off to better endeavors!

I love Stephen King movies especially Christine. So I am so looking forward to this and more to do with The Lycan.

Oh you're getting out fast.

Yes Thomas & Courtney are holding an open invitation to design the new RENEGADE logo. Link below if you fancy giving it a go.

The briefing Tom and Courtney posted for the contest is very promising I must say...

So, once again displaying my breathtaking ignorance of the industry, what would be the chances of Renegade picking up some of Tom’s sidelined projects, eg, AMDFASH, Malone sequels, etc.?  I understand that another company owns the rights to Malone but would they sell?  And if not, why not if they’ve no intention of doing anything with it?  Apologies if it seems obvious but the film business is not my area of expertise!

You may remember that Tom mentioned in the Q and A that Westerns are ssssooooo hard to sell so it all boils down to the same thing I'm afraid. If the financiers don't think it will make money  (as Westerns generally dont) they wont get behind it.

Things are moving with other projects though that will be discussed if they come off. Promise there is lots going on.

Yeah, I do remember that, also remember being a bit bummed about it......what of the rights issue, how does that work?

For something like Malone, Renegade would simply have to the buy the rights. They they would own everything and have the freedom to do what they wanted. Not sure on what type of cost that would entail though. Silly money I expect! Putting my business head on it simply becomes a buyers market for Hannibal Pictures so if I were them and Tom was coming to me I'd know to raise the price!
