great shot, Timmy! nope, it's not the Mantle hat. and yes, obviously its a NY Yanks hat but who can tell me which team? here's a hint:

Which league?

I am going to guess the American league. Cuz they play the Cleveland Indians and they are in the American league.

Hey Thomas big fan! I don't know if this has been asked already but is there any hope of you playing Frank in a full length movie again? If Marvel asked you to do it would you?

the short was done for absolutely no money. 1984 pictures paid for the location and the food for the crew. that's it! the rest is all Phil Joanou. he pulled in a lot of favors on this - that means everyone who worked on it did it for fun - on their off days. the sfx turned out pretty fucking good for $Free, in mho.

we didn't even have enough security. there's video of Phil personally escorting some crazy man who wouldn't get out of the shot. it was AWESOME. he mad dogged this dude until he got the hell off the set. epic.

no money for an original score. i know Phil was worried about peoples attention span because it's an internet short - thats why the use of music.

it does its job, but i know that if this were a feature he might have painted it a little differently..

we wanted to treat the short like it was a clip from a lost Punisher film. it lives on the 'net as a fan film and that's all it is. so there is no hollywood money in this thing - just a hell of a lot of talent from everyone involved.

it's a little fish in an OCEAN of fish, so we may have painted it with a couple of louder stripes, yeah. i don't think it gets in the way of the message.

props to the DP

Masanobu Takayanagi

who shot THE GREY! and Phil's coloring is tops.

No budget? Impressive. This is what true filmmaking should be about. Making something big out of very little based on the passion for a project rather than doing it for the money.

#DIRTYLAUNDRY is a compelling film packed with more action & emotion in its short allotted time than most movies accomplish having in a full-length feature.

I like the inclusion of a hashtag with the title & the Twitter handles in the credits -- Nice touch. :)

So I made this in the past couple hours.

Awesome! Great work, xNLx!

Tom - Tell me it's The Mick's!

I was just about to post a pic captioned, "The Mick, on the bench and waiting to get in the game"

Ahhhh, fuckit - Here it is -

C'mon, tell me it WAS the Mantle hat!

Lovin' the pics you're postin', Tim! This one of TJ is my favorite. The hat reminded me of 61*. I so wish it had been the Mantle hat, too.

Hypothetically speaking, if you guys were to make another Punisher film, would you consider making it take place in the 70's or 80's? Then move foreward maybe 5-10 years for each sequel? I always thought the vietnam war was very important to the character, and kind of made him who he is, but that's just my thoughts on Frank.

Either way, I would watch another TJ Punisher in a flash. Unless he shoots rainbows out of his guns or something.

i always hated that line.

I always took that to mean he was Mets fan, seeing as how the character was born in Queens and the Mets are based there.

That's a Negro league hat isn't it?

Esco's got it. yes, & crazylace54 nailed it: "NY Black Yankees played in the Negro National League from 1936- 1948."

found that hat just a few days before shooting, and thought it was a nice touch.

as i feared, some folks are decrying DL as 'racist' - to paraphrase UNFORGIVEN:

'race' has nothing to do with it.

wish i could give one to ALL you guys.

we made up a very few test shirts, and gave em away to the die hards that made it to the screening, and then came by the booth.

sorry Geoff! but who knows, if Raw ever makes it across the pond there might be room for one in the old leather bag. ;)

my distaste for that line only stems from my love for #7

Absolutely loved Dirty Laundry!

Did not KNOW the fortitude of a Jack bottle!! Amazing!!!

Favorite commercial of all time is the Mean Joe Green SuperBowl Coke commercial (actually jockeys for pole position with Apple's 1984 commercial) - but diggin' on the inspiration for Dirty Laundry!!!

This is FANTASTIC:

So I made this in the past couple hours.

And last, but never least, for the RAW Estrogen Brigade, how fighting trim and smoking hot is Mr. Jane in Dirty Laundry? Nothing sexier than a man that does his own laundry AND kicks some punk a$$ AND lets the lady finish business.

Oh, Frank!!! What could have been?!?

Reality is the 1,515,219 or something like that hits that Dirty laundry was showing last time I looked..Thats pretty strong Tom!..The powers that be can't deny that!..You've always had a great take on Frank this would be your third go around with him "Yes I'm counting the fantastic voicework you did for the game!"..Money People will see money, palms shall be greased and Thomas Jane will done the skull again!..Its only a matter of time..

a full bottle of Jack will crush a human skull. do not try this at home.

Would be interesting to see that come up on Deadliest Warrior.

like slipping in to an old girlfriend. easy and hard at the same time.

Where's that mop? Christ, TJ - Spank Bank'd.

It's great seeing so many new people register just to post on this thread. That says a lot for The Punisher franchise just as much as the quality of the short. To have no budget, to go into this wanting to produce something that holds to Frank Castle's evolution that fans would be able to latch on to is an undertaking to say the least. This absolutely hit the mark. I cannot imagine you all are anything less than pleased.

Is this something we should expect is just to whet our appetites? Do you think this is something you will likely keep doing when you have time? Continuing to create these shorts, perhaps as a series?
