Hung, Season 2

I've enjoyed the season so far. The happy birthday episode was awesome. The storyline with Mike is funny and tragic at the same time, and the pimp advice usually gets me laughing.

I'm excited to see more of how Tanya handles herself with Lenore. Tanya's really cracking me up right now. And of course I can't get enough of TJ shirtless! But regardless, I'm really enjoying this season. It gets more exciting every week and its just a damn shame that the season is almost over. :(

Ronnie is starting to grow some balls, but have been his curing of the beaver problem from last episode ;)

I was kind of waiting for Ray's hit to smack Ronnie or his car. Though, is line while rounding the bases is why I love the writing on the show. Just when you think someone is going to say something deep, they give you honesty "all I could think was... My shoulder is killing me!" I laughed pretty hard at that.

Overview of season finale episode of Hung:

http://www.daemonstv.com/2010/09/11/hung-e...n-2-episode-10/

and

"While Ray (Thomas Jane) is struggling through of one TV's most compelling and comic mid-life crises, the series is only getting better with age."

Season 2 starts in Australia: ""The rancid American economy underpins this entire series and anchors it in a bitter truth that feels pretty real.

HBO announced a couple of weeks ago it was renewing Hung for a third series, and in a country with close to 10 per cent unemployment, I can see how it would resonate with people. That, and the shagging."

Golden Globes nomination predictions from TVSquad - Tom's on the list:

"BEST ACTOR: COMEDY

Jim Parsons beat perennial Emmy and Globe winner Alec Baldwin at the Emmys this year, so maybe the Globes will finally recognize the 'Big Bang Theory' star. Otherwise, this looks like an especially tight race for inclusion.

Best Bets: Alec Baldwin ('30 Rock'), Steve Carell ('The Office'), Thomas Jane ('Hung'), Matthew Morrison ('Glee')

Strong Contenders: Jim Parsons ('The Big Bang Theory'), Ray Romano ('Men of a Certain Age')"

Does anyone know when the actual date of Season 2 of "HUNG" will be released onto DVD?

I know I am behind...I don't have HBO :(

But I rather watch it as if I am watching a movie...one show after the other....no interruptions :)

Hi Sunshine - I think this was already answered in a different Hung thread, but just to reply:

"HBO Home Entertainment and Warner Home Video are teaming up to deliver the complete second season of the program to both DVD and Blu-ray come September 20, 2011."

Hi Jen,

I enquired a while ago but then I saw you posted it on your "HUNG" thread...thanks again :)

What a shame, I thought "season 2" would be out in June sometime just before HBO's 3rd season would be running...

I so wanted to watch "season 2" before I ordered "season 3" on HBO -- dang!

There is no sense in ordering HBO now without seeing "season 2" first :(

Hey Sunshine -

Oh, hey, I would still watch Season 3 of Hung, even if I hadn't been able to see Season 2, or even 1, just to see Tom's performance and the whole kit 'n' caboodle.

Don't give up on it! I'm sure you'll be able to get into the plot lines, even without having seen the previous season. Sure, it might be a little more confusing for long plot arcs, but there are also a lot of stand-alone scenes or new plots/developments in store for the 3rd season. :)

I am sure I would be able to...no doubt about that but I need to watch in sequence -- just me :)

I know, I know I am going to have to wait till September for "season 2" and god only knows when

"season 3" will be realeased next year ?!@?

I am guessing there will be a "season 4"...no word on it being the final season -- yaay!!!

Link to review of Hung, Season 2, on BluRay:

"I like Thomas Jane, and his performance is great. When left to his own devices, he strikes a strong balance here between sensitivity and manliness."

...and another review:

"Hung is one of the smarter comedies on TV. Although the premise is laughable, there are a lot of genuine issues that come up for all of the characters."

Finished Season 2 of Hung on DVD.

Man, I wish I hadn't gotten into TJ's work so late... Maybe if I had been a fan earlier, the show wouldn't have been cancelled. And I gotta say, that Jane Adams can ACT! She steals the scene all the time.

Maybe the silver-lining is that Thomas Jane can focus more on the projects he is passionate about that he wouldn't have had time for had the show been picked up for another season. I love his original works because they show not only that he can hit marks and read lines, but that he's got tons of awesome ideas that people wanna see (like Dark Country, Bad Planet, and my favorite I Melt With You) that no one else is coming up with.
